I normally don’t write negative reviews, but this experience was absolutely unacceptable and potentially dangerous.
My brother ordered fish with potatoes, and the fish was not only dry and poorly cooked, but had a clearly spoiled taste. He managed to eat less than half of it — and that was enough to send him straight to the hospital. He suffered from severe vomiting and diarrhea, and the hospital doctor confirmed that the food poisoning was caused by the fish he ate at this restaurant.
What makes this even worse is that the meal was included in a boat trip organized by Paula Excursions. When we informed the organizers about what had happened and asked for a refund, they laughed in our faces and said: “Next time, more luck.” This response was not only unprofessional — it was heartless and outrageous.
This is not just bad service — it’s negligence. Serving food that can send someone to the hospital and then mocking the situation is beyond unacceptable.
Avoid this restaurant at all costs, and do not trust Paula Excursions with your time, money, or health. Your safety is clearly not a...
Read moreEvery two years we visit Bol. Our highlight has always been the pizza at Topolino, something we look forward to every time. Unfortunately, this September it was a disappointment. Compared to 2023, the pizza has become smaller — more dough than pizza, almost like Pizza Hut.
I ordered a pepperoni pizza, expecting one with spicy salami and hot peppers on top. Unfortunately, what I got was a “pepperoni pizza” with no heat at all. No peppers, and it tasted sweet instead of spicy. My wife had the Bol pizza. Taste-wise, both pizzas were far from what we had enjoyed in previous years.
It’s really a shame that the quality could not be maintained over the years. The atmosphere is still lovely, with pleasant live music. If only the pizzas had been perfect, it would have been a dream. Sadly, even the seat cushions were very dirty with food stains.
Really a pity — but it’s no longer a...
Read moreI know they advertise as pizzeria, but we ordered everything but. Oh, just so you know - this was the best overall experience and food while on this leave!
First of all service was quick, polite, very helpful and just enough chatty (thank you, Miloš).
We ordered a plate of fried calamari with cooked potatoes and chard which was perfect. Crispy and soft.
I ordered a plate of octopus ragout which was dark, creamy and full of aroma.
Oh and they were serving my favourite craft beer San Servolo which is a local Croatian brand from Istria. Light, fruity and full of flavour.
To top it of we ordered pancake suzette which was delicious.
This is absolutely the place to visit in Bol - BUT ... explore the menu, don't go straight for the pizza and you'll...
