A nice enough meal with quick service and pleasant staff. I had the ribs which came with onion rings, chips and 'slaw, the meat was nice and tender but the sauce could had a bit more flavour! My wife had the 'taste of the sea' which came fish cakes, butterfly prawns, salad and lots and lots of chips. It should of had a few more prawns and less chips! My daughter had the beef lasagne which she said was ok but not as nice as the one we make at home! The interior is a bit of a mishmash of old and new, with sawn wooden pallets stuck on the walls, and in my opinion far too many ceiling spot lights (23 in total) which made the ambience a bit harsh and more like a dentist's, rather than a welcoming cosy restaurant. Although the meal was pleasant, if we are visiting Tintagel again whilst on holiday, I'd probably try out one of the other many restaurants available in the high street.

After visiting the amazing Tintagel Castle we were quite a bit hungry. This restaurant was still open for lunch and had some tables outside. Our English Bulldog was welcome as well. Ordered a Jacket Potatoe with Quinoa Curry and Crab Cakes with fries. Some water and Coke with that - had a long drive ahead of me. Both meals came with fresh and crunchy salad on the side. The quinoa curry was very nice, never had quinoa curry before. Went well with the potatoes. The crab cakes were a pleasant suprise. Hot, crispy and with nice seafood flavour. Tender and creamy inside. Staff was very friendly, prices very fair. Good location on the main road (but still quiet). A very good lunch in a wonderful town.

Arrived at 18:00 and asked if there was availability, waitress said yes but they will be closing in an hour, so we decided to stay and order. Had some chicken tenders for start and was clearly some frozen chicken served on what appeared to be half a lettuce, see image below. Then had a seafood platter and that also appeared to be frozen cheap quality food. Again served on a lot of lettuce. We were waiting for a while for the food and more people were arriving and being seated and served until gone 19:00 so what the waitress has originally told us was clearly lies just to get us to stay and order!

I always research restaurants before we visit an area and Crossbow had the best pricing and something for everyone. I had the Bacon and Brie Toasty and it was the best I've ever had. Very generous size. It came with a lovely salad and a little serving of some amazing (very fresh) coleslaw. I was glad our daughter doesn't like slaw, because she had a bigger portion that I ate. I kid you not, I'd buy a vat of it if I could!

Our daughter did enjoy her chicken goujons and chips. My husband had the very healthy in size breakfast bap (he said next time he'll order the eggs cooked through as runny eggs made the roll fall apart), but he ate it with a knife and fork and said it was delicious.

We'll definitely be back. We live about 40 mins away and will make this a lunch...

The visit was very average and border line negative as I'm in Cornwall and wanted a cornish paste at 3pm in the day and they failed to tell us this at the time of entering, when we went to order we was informed they had no cornish pastie's! The remainder of the experience was okay ish, also what I found really weird was they informed so many customers that they were closed for 30mins as the chef was having his lunch... Unheard of!! All staff then sat down and had lunch together whilst so many potential paying customers were turned away... Paying customers vs staff having lunch together... 🤔 Does not make fundamental business sense... Management should really look at putting customers and customer needs at the heart of...
