I saw all these wonderful reviews and was pleased to find out that this cafe was nearby our hotel, so we were full of enthusiasm to visit this establishment on our first day in Cyprus.
We were there on Friday (28.05) morning and, unfortunately, left with bitter feelings.
I feel obligated to tell you that we LOVE vegan food and we mainly eat only vegan, so we had our share of amazing vegan foodies.
Meraki design was cozy and comfortable, and the waiter (sorry, didn't get the name but it was a man with an American accent, at least it sounded so) was polite and attentive. When we ordered our food we were disappointed. The price didn't match the quality and taste.
I ordered a chickpea ''omelet'', the size was decent, came with some fries and a garden salad. It was definitely eatable, but nothing that would make me come back. The biggest disappointment was when my partner got his bagel with carrot aka ''salmon''. I saw on Meraki Instagram that bagels are prepared in their own kitchen, but they didn't taste fresh and those carrots are prepared in some special way too...Since the price per bagel was rather steep (7,50eur) we expected something really good, but in the end, it was just bread with a vinegar marinated carrot and we felt really ripped off...Sorry, but it's not fair to charge for two slices of bread and peeled carrot 7,50eur!!! It was definitely not worth it.If taste would be great, we wouldn't complain about the price, but since it didn't taste good, of course, we feel cheated.
So sorry to say this, but this was our experience. Good luck and thank you for a good service and following C-19...
Read moreMeraki truly lives up to its name, embodying the Greek meaning of doing something with love, joy, and passion. Although I no longer live in Paphos, it remains my first stop whenever I return, as it holds some of the most pleasant memories for me.
The food is simply amazing! The variety of vegan options is impressive, and I really appreciate that some dishes come with gluten-free options too. During my recent visit, we started with the Ginger Booster—a fantastic choice that gives an energy kick from the very first sip. For our main course, we had the Pad Thai and one of their delicious burgers, complemented by a side of sweet potato fries. Every bite was bursting with flavor and left us thoroughly satisfied.
To wrap up the meal, we indulged in their chocolate cheesecake. While it was good, I personally felt it could have used a touch more sweetness to make it truly exciting.
The staff at Meraki deserve a special mention. They’re incredibly friendly, attentive, and just overall cool characters who clearly care about their customers and the vibe of the restaurant. Their attention to detail and warm service elevate the dining experience.
Another standout aspect of Meraki is the thoughtful touch of having eco-friendly and spiritual products for sale. It adds an extra layer of meaning to the visit and aligns beautifully with their ethos.
Overall, Meraki is a gem worth visiting, whether you’re a local or just passing through. Thank you for the wonderful experience—I’ll definitely be...
Read moreWe had brunch at Meraki, a 100% plant-based restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with pastel-colored decor and a backdrop of contemporary pop music that creates a relaxed yet lively vibe.
We started with a cappuccino, though we didn’t realize we could request sugar alternatives like agave and stevia (it was clearly mentioned on the menu!). As a result, it wasn’t as sweet as we would have liked, but that was on us. On the other hand, the hot white chocolate drink was absolutely amazing—rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced.
For food, we ordered the smashed avocado toast with scrambled tofu, which was really good—fresh, flavorful, and well-seasoned. The real standout, however, was the jackfruit gyros, a plant-based take on the classic Greek döner shawarma. Served with a small side salad, it was incredibly delicious, with bold flavors and a satisfying texture that truly impressed us.
To finish, we had the avocado chocolate cake for dessert. Despite the avocado in the name, you couldn’t taste it at all—it was just a rich, decadent chocolate cake bursting with flavor.
Having been to many vegan restaurants, I can confidently say that Meraki is one of the best. The name itself—Meraki, meaning “doing something with creativity, passion, and love”—perfectly captures the essence of this place. You can truly feel that passion...
