The New Horizon Gastropub & Sports — Restaurant in Κοινότητα Χλώρακα

Always impressed by the food here, its a far cry from pub grub!! We take family & friends who visit either for drinks or food & drinks, and everyone has been more than pleased with their experience. There is an extensive range of drinks from draught beers & ciders to bottles to spirits.

We drop in from time to time and often take friends with us. The food is great with a really good menu to choose from. The service is always prompt & efficient, professional & polite. As locals, the owner always acknowledges us, but is equally welcoming to first time visitors.

Today we opted for one course, the portions are generous and two courses at lunch usually means we don't eat for the rest of the day! We both chose burgers, the Aberdeen Angus & Suns Out Buns Out & had 3 pints of Keo and a small water and the bill came in at €46 which we feel was good value for the food & service.

There are a number of TV's and all sorts of sports are playing but they are not intrusive. They are responsive to requests for particular games/events.

So, we've been here twice. To be honest, for the first visit I would rate 5 stars but today was really bad (our second time here). In both of the times the food took way too long to arrive (more than 30 minutes), today we ordered the steak fillet and the ultimate steak house burger. The fillet was over cooked, and in my burger was pork which wasnt at all mentioned in the menu (Im Jewish and dont eat pork). We complained and were very upset, the cook replaced it with beef burger but when the bill came, we saw that they charged us extra 2€ for the burger, even though the waiter agreed it wasnt ok that in the menu the pork wasnt mentioned. A long walk brought our journey here so we stopped for a quick drink. We did ask the female member of staff if she was doing iced coffee and she said yes. We sat down and chatted a bit about our lovely long walk and soon enough the waitress brought us a Hot coffee! We just laughed and drank it even though we were very hot after our walk. So maybe her understanding of English was not the best. It was not a great tragedy but we were looking forward to a nice iced drink.
