Stefanos Fish Tavern — Restaurant in Larnaca

Unfortunately didn't have a great experience here, food was sub standard. Key points:

Major stuff: Photos I see here aren't the same when food came Octopus legs (was chopped) but cooked well *. Calamari - was not cooked through - I returned some of this food without a question from staff / kitchen Chips were very oily partly due to them serving them in the middle of the platter (mezze) but also just not cooked at a high enough temperature. Some chips were raw. These are like fries, hard to get wrong. Bread served with meal, just not that nice at all - cheap. Baby crab - most pointless dish ever - nothing in it - purely decoration (at our cost).

Minor stuff: Great floor manager/s - unhappy staff (can't believe they are being treated well) Asked for small bottle of beer got a big one (got it replaced quickly)

Good stuff: After raising issue with first set of chips, second lot came quickly (but with the same issue under cooked) Sea bass was cooked - but by that time we'd encountered the under cooked calamari, pointless crab and chips it had set the tone.

Waitress did ask how the meal was, I did provide above feedback, she apologised but went on to say there are lots of other good dishes for next time. I think she missed the point.

There won't ever be a next time.

EDIT 2024: We returned here again this Christmas. Again absolutely fantastic cuisine. Very nice and smiling staff. Thank you very much and we definitely recommend it.

Stefanos is a very nice restaurant that we passed by every morning when we went for a run or a walk. We love seafood, so we definitely wanted to visit this place because there were positive reviews on Google. We had a plate for 2 people. Which is a very popular way to serve a meal for two and still sample as many types of seafood and fish as possible. Sitting outside was nice, although there were cars driving by, there wasn't much traffic. Of course you can sit inside, but we wanted to be outside. The cuisine was excellent, so was the food and the wine was delicious. I would only have one single complaint. We also got crab, unfortunately all the meat was taken back again because they didn't give us tongs and therefore we couldn't get to the meat. It is a great pity. I know the table next to us got the tongs. I really appreciated the full menu - we got the garden salad with feta cheese, olives, dips, then we got the seafood plate itself and to finish we got a homemade nutty almond dessert. I do not recommend this restaurant

Our visit was a disappointment from start to finish. The staff did not listen to customers – despite our requests, part of our order never arrived, and the water we asked for multiple times was never brought. Starters were served after the main course, and our child's meal came last, together with the starters.

After the meal, we asked for the bill and had to wait 30 minutes. When we went to pay at the bar, we were told to go back to our table and wait even longer. Eventually, the bill was brought along with the desserts, which were supposed to be served with the main course. To make matters worse, drinks that were never served were added to our bill.

As for the food, it was nothing special—just deep-fried and average at best. The pork in pita was particularly bad: extremely greasy, tough, and completely lacking in seasoning.

To top it all off, the restaurant was only one-third full. I don’t even want to imagine how the staff manages when all the tables are occupied. The whole experience was frustrating and not worth the price. I definitely do not...
