The story of the DISRESPECTFUL waiter.

Takis has always been an institution for me, I visit Larnaca on longtrips a few times in a year and it has been tradition to go to Takis straight after we land, I have been doing that for 9 years straight.

So I landed in Larnaca today, went straight to Takis and I was shocked at the disgusting attitude given to us by the waiter!

Here is how it went... We ordered a couple of halloumi pieces, couple of sheftalia pieces, mushroom plate, and a soup, which comes to about 25 euros all together (a price that is expensive compared to other similar places in Larnaca) so the waiter took the order and went away, then he returned to ask "Are you ready?" I thought he forgot that he had taken our order already so I said "we ordered", but shockingly he replied in a very rude tone "ONLY PIECES OF HALLOUMI AND SHEFTALIA AND MUSHROOM PLATE AND SOUP!??" while projecting an extremely disgruntled expression, he walks off and comes back with serving plates, after I told him to cancel the order, what does he say? NOTHING! He storms off and doesn't say a word.

I definitely will not be visiting a place that has seemed to develop arrogance and no respect towards customers.

Now that they have tourists/customers they may have boosted their ego a little bit, but I've seen Takis when it was empty, I've been to Takis when I was the only person in there, I've had slow service but never anything like this behaviour!

Now that you have a few tables filled you think that's an excuse to treat customers with such disrespect?

That's not how Cypriot people are!

Avoid this place unless you have patience and like being walked all...

Good afternoon! Today we visited your institution with my family. Every year, since 2015, we have come to Larnaca to have lunch at your establishment, regardless of where we lived on our vacation, and at what distance. We came with our parents, we advised you to friends, and most importantly, we liked your food and atmosphere. Today, on February 6, an unpleasant situation happened to us. We came to lunch, I was wearing ray ban glasses, which I put next to the napkin holder. We had lunch and paid off, went outside and realized that I had forgotten my glasses. The waiter who served us looked at us and said that there were no glasses here. This situation is extremely unpleasant for us, because we returned at the moment when we were cleaning our table and we remembered exactly that the glasses were lying on it. If you’re looking for an authentic Taverna in Larnaca, then Taki’s is the place to go. You can tell you’re in a good spot as even on a Monday evening, this place was full of locals!

We were lucky to get a table without reservation and I don’t think you can reserve a table, first come first served. We had a look through the menu and opted to stay on water as we had been at the beach all day and decided to go for the Mixed Grill platter for two.

Whilst we waited for our food to arrive, we were given a trio of dishes and a salad, free of charge! The meat platter was absolutely huge and had a selection of meats from local sausages, kebab meat, chicken, pork, halloumi , chips.
