A Little Slice of Heaven in the Heart of Nicosia – Avlu!

My partner and I stumbled upon Avlu Nicosia by happy accident one day, and honestly? We've been smitten ever since. It’s become one of our go-to spots in the city – and for very good reason.

The drinks are beautiful – think elegant, refreshing, and just the right amount of indulgent. The service is always top-notch, with a warm welcome and friendly vibes that make you feel like a regular, even on your first visit.

They even open up the rooftop, which lets the breeze drift through and adds that magical, relaxed, open-air feel that makes you want to linger for hours. And we can’t forget to mention the gorgeous cats – Cyprus is famous for them, and Avlu has some of the friendliest felines around. They add that perfect touch of charm as they bask in the sun or wander by for a little attention.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is laid-back and lovely, and its location in central Nicosia means you’re right in the thick of the city’s energy while still feeling like you’ve found a hidden gem.

If you come during a weekday, the place is not busy at all and they have inside seating with air conditioning. Their Wi-Fi is strong enough to get some work done and it covers the whole property.

They built this place like a compound, with different stands that sell different things. It is all part of the same restaurant and they have automatic kiosks where you can order everything by yourself.

Coffee is decent and reasonably priced. Pizzas costs 9€ and there is a bar on site with cocktails, beers, wine, etc.

Restrooms are clean and even aesthetically pleasing.

This place used to be such a great spot. I went back last night and honestly, I was so disappointed. They’ve changed everything: the seating, the layout, and even added this awkward performance area. The restaurants are gone, and the cozy coffee place? It’s basically just a big bar now. I ordered the chicken tenders and got four tiny pieces for the price!! definitely not worth it. I can’t believe they turned such an amazing place into this mess. It’s really sad to see how much it’s gone downhill....
