Paphos Gate it was one of the three gates entering the Old Nicosia which was surrounded by the high Venetian city walls and it was called San Domenico Gate as the abbey of San Domenico was nearby. There are two sections of the gate on one side there's a medial Royal hall called Castleliotissa and it was part of a Lusignan palace but it was destroyed when the wall it was built under the venetians. Up to 1938 the hall on one side it was underground. On the other side you can see clearly the Paphos Gate which you can walk through it and the Venetian City wall. Behind it after some excavations they have found an Ottoman aqueduct. Is worth a walk...

On the back of the gate, there is a protective wall that was used during the ongoing island conflict. Overall, definitely recommend going here and seeing this simple yet quite captivating...
