Title: Disappointing Experience at Agora Limassol
I recently visited Agora Limassol with the expectation of a relaxing and enjoyable time, particularly in their tent area upstairs, which was advertised as a chill-out zone. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant due to the extremely rude and unfriendly behavior of the staff, particularly one individual who seemed to be in charge.
Despite our inability to understand Greek, this person approached us with a very rude gesture and demeanor, insisting in Greek that we leave the area. There was no attempt made to communicate with us in a language we understood or to explain the situation calmly. His approach was not only unprofessional but also completely contrary to the hospitable atmosphere one would expect in a place designed for relaxation.
It was disheartening to encounter such unwelcoming treatment, especially in a setting that promises a serene and enjoyable experience. This incident significantly marred our visit, and I feel it's important for potential visitors to be aware of the possibility of such an unpleasant...
Read moreHad terrible experience with the guard: We got into the building with a small dog on our hands, we wasn't sure if the dogs are allowed, but we saw a guy with a big dog on a leash inside so decided the dogs are OK.
It appeared they're not, as a second later guard appeared and in a very rude manner yelled that the dogs are not allowed. When we asked why is that as we and pointed to a guy with a dog he couldn't answer anything reasonable.
I'm very sorry to say that, but the second question guard asked us is "Where are you from?", and the guy who was apparently "allowed" to walk his dog inside was a Cypriot.
I'm OK with following the rules, and will leave any venue when asked politely. But DIFFERENT rules for "locals" and "non-locals" and this blatant ethnic discrimination (guard didn't even try to hide why he allowed that big-dog-guy) is just OUTRAGEOUS.
The venue itself is great, but guys, please, I couldn't believe you allow your guards...
Read moreIt started off well but has been going downhill since. Speak to any of the shop owners and they will tell you the same thing, the costs here are too high to make any business profitable. At best they have created a low paying job for themselves. This is evident also in the turnover of shops, as they open and close rapidly. At this time there is a lot of empty space in the Agora. They have tried to mask this by bringing in video games and air hockey tables which take up space and bring in teenagers so to make the place look somewhat full, but they are not fooling anybody, and this is usually the death knell for places like this. What can be done ? Well, I would lower the rates to give small business owners a chance and improve the services like cleaning as these are quite poor, but I doubt the 'investors' will let go of their greed long enough to consider this. Until then, the downhill trajectory will continue until this place finally...
