MATCHA THEORY — Restaurant in Limassol Municipality

I had such a hard time finding a good matcha in Ayia Napa, so while passing through Limassol, I made it a point to visit this café after seeing the word matcha in the name. I had high hopes, and I wasn’t disappointed.

As someone who owns a matcha café myself and is a genuine matcha lover, I can confidently say they serve a high-quality ceremonial grade matcha. The color and taste speak for themselves. It was a bit strong for my personal preference, I usually go for 3g of matcha, but the lavender matcha I ordered was perfectly balanced. The lavender syrup didn’t overpower the matcha at all.

Ordered from bolt food. Paid 11€ for strawberry matcha and there was no taste of matcha, just water and strawberry syrup. Very disappointed. Last time i tried lavender matcha and it was good, but i tried it when the cafe just opened. Now it tasted awful. The matcha color didnt have that vibrant color as it should be(expected to be good quality matcha bc of such expensive prices) The ice couldn’t melt entirely, bc i don’t live far away. Just go and buy a starbucks matcha latte. Even if it doesn’t have that strawberry syrup, but at least it will be worth the price and you will taste the matcha. I recently visited this cafe ut of curiosity. Unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The matcha was far too sweet it completely overpowered the natural earthy tones and quality of the blend. As someone familiar with this product I know it can shine with proper preparation and balance which was clearly lacking here. Service was also underwhelming. Staff seemed disinterested which made the visit feel rushed. It's frustrating to see such a great ingredient not used to its full potential both in preparation and presentation.
