LOCATION & AMBIENCE: Situated by the sea in Trilogy's square, opposite sister restaurant Musa, its an amazing location to enjoy your evening. The interior of the restaurant is dark and moody with high ceilings and a semi-open kitchen. The bar is at the center of the restaurant opposite the DJ playing chilled vibes. It is clear that the owners spent time and money to make this a place worth visiting.
SERVICE: The team is obviously hand-picked from Greece, and they offer a masterclass in restaurant service. From the hostess and barman to the table attendants, they attended to our every need or request. I don't remember encountering service of this level in Cyprus before.
THE FOOD: Where to begin.. Oris offers a mainly sharing experience, where the servers will split the food into your plates for you if you decide to share eveything.
We had the Burrata, Hamachi Crudo, Smoked Beef Tartare, Beef Carpaccio, Red Tomato Salad, Aged Seabass Sashimi for starters. All amazing, with the sublime, melt in your mouth Beef Carpaccio AND the Seabass with the aji Amarillo and lime sauce as amazing standouts.
For mains, the Strip Loin Tagliata and F1 Wagyu Ribeye are the beef headliners, grilled to perfection. Special mention to the horseradish sauce that comes with the ribeye. The Seafood Calamarata pasta was amazing - the clam sauce and the dry bottarga give the dish a deep umami punch. We also had the grilled lamb shoulder which comes with an amazing lemon sauce that pairs beautifully with the pull-apart lamb. Special mention to the lemon drizzled baby potatoes and the crispy cheese cauliflower as sides.
For dessert, the Triple Choco Soft Cake is NOT TO BE MISSED!
THE DRINKS: All cocktails are created by the legendary Clumsies cocktail bar in Athens, and they offer the classic versions of a list of cocktails, as well as their reimagined, revamped version. We've tried most of them and while all were nothing short of amazing, special mention goes to the Revamped Paloma and the Revamped Garibaldi.
CONCLUSION: We are lucky to have this restaurant in Limassol - after so many disappointments and sub-par experiences at so-called "high-end" restaurants catering to cash splashing unsuspecting victims, Oris is a breath of fresh air in Limassol's culinary offerings. Suitable for a romantic dinner or a gathering with friends. Visited on Tuesday 26/8, group of 8. A...
Read moreStarting with the location, it’s simply amazing. The terrace overlooking the sea and the “Trilogy Square” (not the official name) create a stunning backdrop.
The atmosphere, materiality and lighting of the place are done right, giving the interior a refined freshness, with all the small details firmly stating elegance without screaming.
The music complements the ambiance, setting the mood without being overpowering.
Accompanied by exceptional service, the restaurant strikes a perfect balance. The staff is present yet not intrusive, professional, informative, and attentive. Nothing is too much, and everything is done to perfection.
The food was exceptional. We opted for a meat-oriented menu and everything was delightful. This international-Mediterranean cuisine with Cypriot touches was truly remarkable. The tahini-tomato dip and the fantastic crushed cucumber salad in the beginning set the tone for the rest. The cheese croquettes, the grilled broccolini, the “antinahtes” baby potatoes with coriander seeds, and the cauliflower were fine additions to the main dishes. The beef tagliata arrived cooked to your preference, juicy and tasteful, plated with purslane leaves. We had also the chicken and local pork chop, all equally well-made.
Initially, I savoured a Negroni from the bar while waiting for the rest of the company. For the rest of the night, we indulged in wine.
Finally, the desserts. An almond cake and a Trilogy Pavlova. Among us, we couldn’t decide which was the best, but they were both surprisingly not too sweet and wonderfully balanced.
Overall, the menu was exceptionally refreshing for a fire kitchen in Cyprus. It’s unburdened by repetitions and fine dining clichés, and very well priced for quality...
Read moreElegant Ambience, Yet Surprisingly Unrefined Experience. With its refined setting and notable reputation, Oris promises much — yet the experience delivered far less. The essence of fine dining, both in flavor and in service, was notably absent.
We ordered a selection of fish and seafood, expecting freshness and finesse. What we received was of surprisingly low quality and minimal in quantity — truly disappointing for a restaurant that positions itself at the top tier of dining in Limassol.
Throughout the evening, the staff while being attentive, applied constant pressure to steer us toward off-menu options, particularly off menu fish and meats, which created a rather uncomfortable atmosphere. We felt like our requests were not respected.
Despite politely requesting just one bread basket, two were served and charged. The same pressure was felt with the wine and water— our glasses were constantly refilled, even after we asked to pace it slowly to keep it chilled.
We were genuinely surprised to see a burrata “salad” presented without a single vegetable — not even a tomato — just a modest, uninspired piece of burrata lacking in both freshness and flavor, yet priced extravagantly.
Oris may impress at first glance, but it needs to match its aesthetics with culinary integrity and a more respectful approach to guest preferences.
One hopes the substance will soon...
