Decided to have lunch with my friend who was visiting. Good mood, we were excited and friendly. Picked things from the menu which included sea bass. The member of staff came to take our order, wasn’t very friendly but I understand, everyone has bad days, we asked him if the sea bass is enough for two. We then asked him what other fish he would suggest, he told us that everything is nice but we should order shrimps and sardines. We didn’t want to have that so we told him that we want to order sea bass and some other fish. He was not happy and told us that he told us to order a different thing why would we go for sea bass. Pressured us to have his option, I thought okay we’ll have that as he was saying it was amazing. As a result - 4 tiny shrimps and terribly oily sardines (my friend tried 1 of them and that’s it). The man just sold us something that probably wasn’t selling on that day. Very upsetting. Then he disappeared, seemed to me that he clearly knew we wouldn’t like them. Then we asked other members of staff for the bill. Waited for a long time, started to slowly get up get ready (had a baby with us as well). No one said anything to us. Then started walking and no one would even mention the bill. And then on the way out a member of staff stops us asking if we paid and if no why didn’t we. I explain to him that we were waiting for a long time, we have a baby, we tried to make eye contact, no one would come. Then he said yes but you didn’t tell me. Am I suppose to now chase every member staff to pay the bill? The restaurant was empty. Anyway, left completely disappointed, hungry and scammed. Ruined our day. I am also breastfeeding so need to eat properly otherwise I don’t feel well. Don’t recommend the place.
Updated due to the owner’s response: I’ve read your reviews and you don’t seem ever admitting anything and always point at money people pay - if you don’t charge a lot it doesn’t mean that you can treat your customers like you do, hospitality is a bit more than just being cheap and rude, just be nicer to everyone and it will make a...
Read moreSo glad we followed our nose to Mostra (ΜΟΣΤΡΑ) in Saipolou Square. With so many fabulous places to eat we chose this lovely, friendly Taverna with a heavy Greek influence serving fabulous tapas size meze dishes with an authentic twist away from the normal choices. They were welcoming, and so helpful and guided us through the menu to make choices for two, not an army as we wanted to try everything. You must have the tirokafteri cheese dip and pitta which was the best we have ever had. The Red Pepper stuffed with feta was gorgeous and the meatballs in sauce with lemon oven cooked potatoes unbelievably tasty. Had fried zucchini’s and eggplant too with skordalia which was the icing on the cake. Not forgetting the ambience of sitting in the square with Greek music floating around us and a soft warm...
Read moreMy friend and I visited Mostra last night after hearing some really good things about the food.
They were right! The quality of the food was outstanding! But that’s not all…
The friendly service and cozy atmosphere was just as exceptional. We were looked after from the moment we sat down till the moment we left.
What is commendable is that the all round experience that Kirios Xristos and the rest of the tram provided was consistent and evident not only with our table but with all the rest of the customers that came throughout the night!
Mostra is by far my favourite tavern and I can’t wait to come back with friends and family!
Thank you Kirie Xristo for looking after us the way you did😊
