Overrated for what it offers. We've been visiting Omodos village for quite some years now and we've tried all available good restaurant/tavern options so we've decided to give a try to Mavres Hines too after some previous attempts when they were overbooked. Nice and cosy place, very good addition of the wine cellar - I suppose when they also have live music it's even better on an atmosphere level. On service level, I've to admit that it was really good, though a wine list could be on the handy side instead of just having to go into the cellar - I understand though that the visit to the cellar is an addition to the whole experience which is intentionally made by the owners. On the food experience though - extremely overrated and overpriced (taking into consideration i.e. the option of Katoi Restaurant in the same village or even Themistoklis Tavern some times) - pork suvlaki was below standard, ribs needed more time to become crunchy, "meatballs" were untasty and the halloumi quite salty for me. There were some nice dishes too, like the zucchini with eggs and the purguri. The jug used for the wine is also not handy at all when it runs near empty (though the whole process may improve the flavor/taste). All in all, it's not good value for money and the culinary experience has space for...

The food at Black Geese is a true feast for the palate. The menu is rich with classic Greek dishes, prepared with the highest quality ingredients. It's particularly worth trying specialties such as moussaka, or fresh Greek salads, which delight with their simplicity and richness of flavors. Read moreI aint reading allat paragraph incoming We came here on a recommendation of a friend. The inside of the restaurant is nice with the decorations and everything. The restaurant was empty and the panorama terrace was closed. The waiter was nice altough i asked for a glass of rosé and she brought me red wine instead. The menu lacks depth and the food was mediocre at best. We had one grilled halloumi which was fine One pork chops in red wine... The pork chop was on the cold side and chewy i couldnt really cut it with the knife they gave me... And one traditional sandwich which was woeful. Two pieces of pitabread with halloumi and a piece of ham NOTHING ELSE... it had no sauce no vegetables or salad inside nothing. We asked for extra tzatziki since it was dry and lacked everything. They served it with 5 slices of cucumber and tomato on the side with fries the fries were great, best food in all 3 dishes. I don't recommend it and for the price this restaurant does'nt worth it. We won't be coming back here, instead try something...
