Good food, extensive menu

This place must be transformed in the summer months with all the seating outside in a garden atmosphere with the huge bar. Not wanting to suffer the cool evening we headed to the smaller inside area to a warm greeting.

The menu is extensive, catering for all tastes including Cypriot specialities, fish, steaks, pasta and pizza. It’s always a little worrying when you are presented with a long menu with no real identity to what the establishment is trying to be.

We shared a starter of grilled calamari. Two medium sized cleaned squid grilled and served with small garnish of salad. Unfortunately, the tentacles where cooked for the same period as the body. The body being just about right, the wings and tentacles where way over cooked, still tasty but very tough.

My kleftico of lamb shank in rich sauce, chips (frozen but delicious) and fresh vegetable was very good. The meat as it should be, just melted off the bone. My wife chose the musaka, served in is own round pot together with salad. Not a lot of meat but very tasty. The wine is all by the glass or bottle, no carafes here. We opted for a bottle of Othello, large bottle of water together with the complementary bread basket of melba toast and bread buns...

Me and my girlfriend went to Artion to eat with the rest of our family (six people in total) we ordered the drinks and food and everything was alright. My girlfriend ordered a vegetarian dish from the menu with no meat in it (for obvious reasons) when the waiter wrote down all of our orders I mentioned TWICE that she does not eat meat and she is vegeterian for over 30 years when we got the food we started eating and everything was alright. When my girlfriend started eating the Moussaka she noticed something fishy, as you can already tell by the buildup there was meat in it after we asked TWICE that she does not want any kind of meat in it did not ate meat for over 30 YEARS and was not planning on it for ethical reasons. The waiters apologized and BLAMED the chef for it. we called the management and he apologized, but either if he said sorry or not they should be ashamed of themselves. I'D NEVER GO TO EAT THERE AGAIN AND SO SHOULD...

We went here for dinner because we loved the garden with the many plants and lights and the whole dining area outside. But unfortunately that was the most positive thing I can tell. The waiters were really rushing us, which we found really not polite… If you are not a native English speaker maybe you need a bit more time to understand everything on the menu. The waiters were generally not friendly and nice. The dry white wine per glass was very not tasty, I had a sip of it and left it there. The bread was served next to our dishes was dried and cold pieces of toasts, nothing like grilled pita or anything similar that they often serve in Cyprus... The starter was not bad (avocado scampi) but the main dishes were also disappointing… The lamb had no flavour, the veggies served it with neither… The mousaka had way too many besamel which made it very very heavy.
