The "Greek Bites" Paphos — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

On our second night in Cyprus, we tried the Greek Bites restaurant, which was a few minutes walk from our hotel. The previous reviews looked favourable, and having walked past the restaurant it looked very inviting. In warmer months we definitely would have chosen to eat Al Fresco - very pretty with lots of twinkly lights. The waitress was quick and efficient, and the food arrived in good time. Myself and my partner ordered Greek mixed meat platter and my adult daughters both opted for gyros. It was all scrumptious. We all cleared out plates. My 17 year old who is a fussy eater, and sometimes as a result, a bit uncomfortable in restaurants, loved her chicken gyros, and was treated so well and put at ease immediately by the owner (I assume) who was attentive, kind and very personable. Lovely to see her stepping out of her comfort zone. We had spillages, and my daughter accidentally broke a glass, but both were quickly dealt with. Toilet facilities were clean, but downstairs - mind your head on the way down too. The ceiling was low at the bottom of the stairs with warning signs, but my clumsy 6' 3" partner still managed to bang his head 😅 Overall, a great experience, and I would highly recommend. We came here for a dinner after recommendation of our family and we left very disappointed. Food was ok, I would say salads were delicious, but small amount of tzatziki for price 3,5€ and fried calamari were very average (frozen calamari which you can buy in every supermarket).. If I had to rate only food I would give them 4 stars. But! The service was awful, we did not feel welcome and the server made unapropriate jokes and he did parody of my sister, which was very rude of him! Absolutely unprofessional, we never experienced something like this before. Also be careful with drink order. We asked for medium sweet house white wine (as it was on the menu) and we got white wine mixed with sprite. Last cherry on the top was, when we asked for the bill and we wanted to pay separately and the waitress answered that she is not going to calculate that 😁 what can I say, amazing...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Greek Bites in Paphos, and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm, inviting, and homely, making it the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed meal.

A special mention goes to Michaela, who provided excellent service. She was courteous, friendly, and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being overbearing. Her welcoming attitude added to the overall enjoyment of the meal.
