We booked a reservation at 9.00 and we were waiting to be seated at least 10 minutes like they were not expecting us. The decided to seat us in front of the entrance which was cold enough and the worst location to be seated. However, we asked the manager to find us a better table which he did it. We had for starter won ton soup and chicken sweet corn soup which left us disappointed as they were not tasty enough neither interesting as flavors. The second appetizer was a mix platter(2 spring rolls, 2 fried won ton, crackers and 2 prawn on toast) which let us down also, as they were not tasty enough. It felt like they didn't put some effort on presentation and flavors. The main dishes were chicken with cashews and stir fried pork with mushrooms in chilli paste sauce and fried egg rice. We kind of liked the second dish in combination with the rice. The first one was also kind of disappointing as the chicken felt like it was prepared hours before and we had the sense that we were eating fast food dish instead of restaurant quality. The service seemed annoyed when we showed our dissatisfaction regarding our seating preference and we felt an ironic attitude towards us. Overall, it was an average...
Read moreReally bad food! Sorry but coming from London I had high expectations for the Thai food. I ordered the red curry fish cakes, and they were mostly flour with red curry paste, no actual flakes of fish in there. Then I ordered the som tam salad, this was very average, a bit on the sweeter side, had no kick. My daughter ordered Singapore noodles, but they were wheat noodles with some spring onions, mushrooms and soy sauce. Not anything like Singapore noodles, which are meant to be rice vermicelli noodles, with lots of veg and turmeric. I ordered the salmon red curry and asked for extra spicy. It was super bland, was not even a curry but a fillet of salmon with some red sauce poured over the top on a plate, the sauce was very similar to a Japanese katsu curry gravy, not red, not even a little spicy, no lemongrass or any Thai flavours. Super disappointing. I asked for chillies on the side and instead I got deseeded chillis mixed in tomato ketchup! Egg fried rice was decent, so were the prawn crackers. Husband ordered Thai red curry with chicken, again it was sweet. If you love your Thai food, DO NOT go here. Service, ambience and staff, all very nice. Massive shame...
Read moreI knew I shouldn't apply Sydney or London standards to this restaurant before I went, but in context of other restaurants in Paphos this was one of the most disappointing meals I've had here. Ordered fish cakes and chicken satay as a starter. Literally grilled chicken breast with a jar of satay sauce on top. No marinade of the meat so no flavour. I get the feeling more positive reviews of this restaurant are redeemed by portion sizes, which are a bit over the top, but even then it doesn't represent good value. The fish cakes appeared prepackaged / frozen and certainly not a hint of red curry or lime leaves in them. We followed with Green Chicken and Red Duck curry, both of which lacked any authentic flavours / ingredients other than what was in the paste. Service was also slow and half hearted. Long wait between courses and table not cleared in between fast enough. The restaurant itself has a great location and terrace, in general a nice venue but the food was very very very average. I can't imagine any reason to return and it's such a pity as there are places where you can find authentic Thai food at better...
