We passed by Kava Café while out and about in the Paphos old town. The view was the primary reason for stopping here, sitting under the trees in the shade with a road going down hill looking on to Paphos. Beautiful spot just on the edge of the shops and taxi pick up area.
Service was friendly and pleasant, no problems here at all.
Food wise we ordered two chicken souvlaki meals. These meals were composed of two small chicken skewers, a generous serving of chips and a fresh salad. On the side we had houmous, tzatziki and pita bread.
The portion size was good for the price at €12
Let's talk about food quality. Generally the food was decent, far from bad but also nothing outstanding on the plates. Seems like a pretty safe average. The chicken as mentioned had used smaller pieces of chicken then expected which were slightly overcooked, I would say slightly under seasoned too but with lemon and dips no problem fixing that. A little tip for the skewers they are perfectly sized to grab a pita quarter and use it to pull the chicken off the skewers directly into the pita. The salad was super fresh, lovely cuts of various vegetables. The salad is undressed however, so tzatziki, houmous and table oils come in useful here. The dips where tasty and saved the rest of the meal imho.
As we were leaving the waitress popped over to give us a free chocolate cake which I quite enjoyed, which was a lovely surprise.
Overall good sized portions on the souvlaki meal as a whole, food was fresh and just ok flavour wise but well priced. The view outside, with the shade and slight breeze felt like a great place to sit and eat. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, surprise cake on the house was a...
Read moreStopped here for lunch on Monday - food was barely average for the price, and we did not take to our server . Waited a while for shared Greek salad, grilled chicken breast and sheftalies. We were upsold some “garlic bread” which was thinly sliced, untoasted, soggy baguette with raw garlic and microwaved cheese on top. Chips were obviously McCain oven chips, I didn’t eat mine. Fast forward to the next evening, my partner (who had the grilled chicken breast) has full blown salmonella poisoning. He cut me off a small bit to try at the time so I only have mild symptoms. A miserable way to spend our last few days of holiday , sabotaged by such a...
Read moreVisited to have a light lunch but it seems there is no such thing at this restaurant - ideal for those who like huge meals. Menu was interesting and they cater for most people. Took long time for meals to arrive, not sure if that’s because everything is cooked to order from scratch or because of busy kitchen or maybe inefficient staff. Prices were very reasonable. Found a hair in my meal, it can happen, but shows some slight unhygienic practices. A slice of cake when you pay the bill, not sure why this is necessary and it also wasn’t that tasty. The gentle breeze across the terrace...
