Soho.79 Cocktail & Sushi Bar — Restaurant in Paphos Municipality

Great ambience with music (live DJ on some days) and good food. We had an early dinner at 6 PM during off-season and the restaurant was completely empty. We opted to sit inside as it was a bit chilly outside but by 7 PM there were quite a few outside tables already full. As vegetarians, it was nice to see a few veg appetizers and sushi rolls. We ordered 3 of the veg sushi rolls, baos, and the spring rolls. The spring rolls were really good while the veg bao was okay. You get 2 baos per order and they felt a bit flavorless. The sushi rolls were good but the one w/ seaweed on top could have done w/ a bit less seaweed. The taste of seaweed was overwhelming and took away from the actual taste of the sushi roll. We took the seaweed off which allowed us to enjoy the taste of the rolls.

Def. recommend this place to anyone that enjoys sushi and a fun ambience. The drinks are good as well and on a good busy night, you could certainly spend couple hours here socializing.

Note, we were at the restaurant for little over an hour and we noticed the songs started to repeat after 45 min. On evenings where there is no live music, the restaurant should at least ensure they have enough unique music for hour and half...

After all my bad experiences here in Paphos I was afraid that Soho79 would be another flop, however I’m very happy to say that even after traveling 47 minutes to reach it, I had a great time.

The location is quite casual, not too busy but also not too quiet being located in the city centre. Staff is there friendly and checks up on you, but isn’t intrusive.

The food is also a big win, I’m quite critical on my sushi, especially with most places nowadays having their food frozen. Happy to say this place lived up to the standards, I ordered a special platter for €44 and after getting excited having to wait 10-15 minutes, eating the sushi I indeed found out that it was fresh and delicious.

I recently visited Soho79 Cocktail and Sushi Bar and was really impressed. I tried several sushi platters, as well as creating my own combinations from the menu options, and not once was I disappointed. The sushi is fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The bao buns are also a must-try — both the chicken and the shrimp were incredibly fresh and delicious, definitely a great choice if you want something beyond sushi. When it comes to drinks, the bar offers plenty of cocktail options. I went for the Pornstar Martini, and it was absolutely fantastic — well-balanced and full of flavor.
