We stumbled upon this place which is just a bit off the main hotel strip. Excellent authentic Indian food! The staff are great and accommodate requests. The Vindaloo is super spicy! Been to so many restaurants where the Vindaloo is just tomato puree. When we went back the second time, the waiter who ended up being the owner's nephew remembered my love for spice and asked me if I wanted my Daal Makhani vindaloo style! The ambiance is maybe a little less outdoorsy than other places but the staff and food make up for it. We got:
Veg Vindaloo: amazing. If you like spicy try a Vindaloo here!
Daal Makhani: creamy and tasty! I had it Vindaloo style! You can get it normal as well.
Butter Paneer: authentic tasty and perfectly buttery
Paneer Kadahi: decent but preferred the butter paneer
Naan: tasty!
Rice: very well done. It sounds simple but good rice has to be separated and not over or undercooked.
I would give the other Indian restaurants in Protaras a miss and go for this one if you want authentic Indian.
Good price too even...
Read moreI'm shocked...Very Sad..such a miserable waiter reduced the experience today to poor rather than average. Food was ok-ish...He forgot the main thing on order anyway, so i couldnt judge that much. I didnt expect much to be honest, but at least pleasant treatment/welcome...The staff were so rude in demeanor throughout as if they were doing me a favour rather than running a business..perhaps the restaurant does so well, my business is not needed?...I left a tip anyway, but wish i didn't as they really didn't deserve it. Didnt even bother to say bye in a civil decent way. Awful service. The worst service i've had in any european Indian restaurant outside of the UK ever for sure. He just kept looking at me in disgust for some reason...Is it my british Indian heritage? I couldnt understand/ comprehend it. Wouldn't hire him for anything...ruins a business image. Simply...
Read moreDisappointed evening since we searched out an Indian resturant in Protaras and choose this resturant. Order starters and mains. Starter was Chilli Paneer and fish Pakora. Main Lamb Madaras, rice, chips and naan bread.
Starters came and the a Chilli Paneer was no spicy at all and was bland. Fish Pakora was fine, lacked spice again. We did mention that the starter was not spicy or flavoured which he did remove of the bill and said I should of asked for it spicy, which the menu has it as Chilli Paneer.
Lamb wasn't Lamb it was mutton, was the other issue however didn't complain as we had complained the first time. Taste of the curry was OK, not a typical Madaras. I wouldn't recommend this place as it was disappointing. The place looks tired and in need of a refurb as a seat was torn and still being used for customers. Choose at your own...
