Super S Restaurant — Restaurant in Paralimni

We visited Super S after seeing a review on Cyprus Insight. We wanted a proper traditional Cyprus restaurant which is exactly what we got. We were greeted and sat down and within seconds, the menus were provided along with warm bread, the tastiest homemade tzatziki ever, olives and other nibbles. My husband ordered Beef Stifado which was absolutely delicious and home made served with rice and chips and I ordered a plain omelette and chips. Both our meals were absolutely gorgeous. I ordered a beer which came served in a bucket of ice and my husband ordered freshly squeezed orange which was the freshest served juice ever. After our meals, we were offered complimentary watermelon which was so fresh and beautiful. The owner and his wife (I believe) provide the most amazing home cooked food and look after you like family and I can't understand how they keep prices so low. I love how relaxed this establishment is, nothing pretentious about it that would make me feel uncomfortable. The owner is so nice and most attentive. Sure, there are some weird aspects to this place, it being family owned, the children sometimes bring the complimentary appetizer, the cutlery and crockery aren't often sparkling clean, the furnishings are dated, but I have never had an issue with the food (or service) here. The complimentary tzatziki is very tasty, and the olives, celery and the chili peppers that come with it are the most unique appetizer I've seen in Cyprus. The servings are generously sized and the meat cooked well. Most dishes come with potato fries and salad, which is perfect for a balanced meal. A little off the beaten track but well worth making the effort to visit this place. From the very welcoming staff to the fantastic food (I had the lasagne which wasn't your typical "English" style lasagne but was very tasty) the Super S Restaurant will not disappoint. Food is so reasonably priced that I expected the portions to be small but they were very generous, and after the free bread, free olive starters, free watermelon and free shot after the meal, we just couldn't believe how small the bill was, that we just had to give a tip on top (this is in no way asked for and was our own choice) .
