Only ate the restaurant did not stay at hotel. We ate here last night and as the place was very busy went with the it must be good it’s packed approach, staff very friendly on arrival. Three of us ate including my wife and son (22), we had a dips starter which apart from the tzatziki which was nice the rest disappointed, the hummus was like water and after having traditional hummus 2 days before elsewhere this was a very poor offering, our mains were all from the traditional part of the menu and arrived 20 mins after. My wife went with the moussaka, my son had traditional chicken kebab and I had the pork chop, when the mains arrived my pork chop looked amazing as did the moussaka, the kebab looked like the Iceland chicken kebabs in the UK, it was dry and tasteless and my son struggled to chew it, nor could he cut through the bread it was served on as it was rock hard, his chips were under cooked and over-all his meal was terrible. The moussaka was presented well, was very plentiful and overall tasty but it was luke warm which was a shame as they seemed proud that it was home made, a basic temperature check would have made the meal amazing. Whilst eating our meals we were not once asked if the meals were ok and considering the old fella in the red t shirt was running around the restaurant like a worker ant making sure the tables were turned around quickly, it seemed they were more focused on numbers of customers coming in over anything else. My pork chop was amazing and piping hot when it arrived so I can’t complain about the dish, the accompanying potato gratin I chose was luke warm and served in a separate bowl and that was a shame. I could have moaned about the issues but we would have been there all night sending back food and I didn’t have fight in me to complain (and the way the young server with the beard muttered under his breath about the amount of food left on my sons plate I believe it wouldn’t have gone down well if I did complain). Meal came to 67 euros and I took that on the chin, I won’t be back, and from my experience I can’t recommend the restaurant which was a shame as the serving staff were genuinely nice, but I want a decent meal not a friendly chat.

We chose Happy Days on our first day, enticed by the promise of authentic Greek cuisine, and it didn’t disappoint, with the pork chop being a notable delight. The restaurant is part of a well-maintained apartment block, presenting a clean and inviting ambiance. Choosing to revisit Happy Days to conclude our holiday, we opted for the pork chop once again. The hosts were amiable, even offering a premium wine alternative when our initial choice was unavailable. The restaurant provides daily food offers, which we didn’t utilize but plan to explore during our next visit. The bustling atmosphere is a testament to its popularity, suggesting a balance of quality food and inviting environment. Despite the crowd, the service remained attentive, contributing to an overall enjoyable dining experience. Definitely a spot worth revisiting for its delightful dishes and friendly service! --- "Enjoyed this review? Hit the like button and follow for more honest insights on local spots!" ---

Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful, creating a great atmosphere. Lovely sea view from some tables. First page of the menu is different small sides “tapas” style so you can try many dishes instead of one large meal. We especially liked mussels casserole, periperi chicken livers, garlic shrimp (although small portion) and fried halloumi with jam. Daily specials are same price as in menu but come with free drink. Not worth it if you’re not a drinker. A good deal if you’d like some wine with your meal to save 3€

My family and I visited Happy Days Restaurant in Protaras around 10 PM and politely asked if we could have something to eat. What followed was absolutely disgraceful.

We weren’t greeted—we were confronted by an older man, who appeared to be the manager. His behavior was appalling: rude, aggressive, and completely disrespectful. From the moment he approached us, he treated us like we were a problem, like we had no right to be there. He made us feel like pests—subhuman. I have never, in my life, been spoken to or treated in such a demeaning way.

We decided to order light meals, mostly because we felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable. This man then interrogated me about my order, rudely telling me I had “never ordered that before,” as if he had any right to question our choices. To make things worse, he then walked away and openly complained about us to a waitress within earshot.

To his credit, a very kind staff member later came to us and apologized for the manager’s behavior. But by then, the damage was done. The bitter taste was already in our mouths—not from the food, but from the treatment.

I will be taking this further. I am Cypriot myself, and I am ashamed that someone like this is allowed to serve tourists. It’s an embarrassment to our country. Visitors deserve to experience the warmth and hospitality Cyprus is known for—not this kind of hostility and humiliation.

This man should not be in a position of power in any restaurant, let alone one that represents our island to the world. Absolutely...

Once again a fabulous holiday at Happy Days - this time for three weeks!||Anna and her team really make you feel part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble and she and Martha are always available for a chat or recommendations for places to visit or good places to eat and drink.||It was very hot when we were there but the friendly happy smiles never wavered.||Hotel has 16 apartments some with an amazing sea view. Rooms are spacious with a separate bedroom and lounge/ dining area with a full size fridge, sink and hob. They are a little dated but kept spotlessly clean by the lovely Maria. Plenty of wardrobe space and hangers. Air con is very efficient ( Thankfully!)||The pool area is clean and spacious with enough sun beds for all guests - although it is rarely busy as guests alternate between the pool and the gorgeous beach a short walk away.||Guests here have a freshly cooked breakfast from a varied menu at Happy Days Authentic Mediterranean Restaurant next door and receive 10% off all food and drink there at any time of day. (Separate review posted)||If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in the centre of the strip with its restaurants bars and entertainment then this...
