As a Cypriot living in London I have come to Protaras for a few days holiday. Chose to eat at Island Affair on our first night, as the restaurant looked nice, and it was next to our wonderful hotel. After a long wait we were finally served by a waitress, without a smile. We ordered meze which is normally amazing wherever I eat it. The food finally started to arrive after 1 hour of our arrival. The dips were ok, the Greek salad was dry and was obviously cut many hours beforehand. As the courses came, my disappointment was exceeded. At one point I asked a waiter what the breaded item was and he just shrugged his shoulders!! Had to ask 3 times for some lemon to squeeze onto the food (to hide the taste). The koupepia were unrecognisable by look and taste, the afelia and the sifado was worse than rubbish and served on the worst rice I have ever tasted. The souvlakia at the end was a slight improvement until I then started the sheftalia which was horrid. The spare rib was terrible. By the point the loukaniko arrived I was expecting the worst but I was actually surprised that it was edible. I am sorry but this is the worst meze I have experienced in my 50 years of living. I wish I could actually give a zero rather than a 1 star., by far this restaurant wins the award of the WORST GREEK RESTAURANT...
Read moreWe’ve had a lot of meals in Cyprus (staying in Protaras) and very often the meat and fish is over cooked and the food a bit bland. Nothing like this at Island Affair!
I had the Shashlik Chicken Kebab and it was delicious. The chicken was succulent and juicy and everything was great.
My daughter had the Steak and Chips off the Kids menu. Asked for it Medium rare. It came exactly as it should, was juicy, perfectly cooked and super-tasty! Would have done an adult steak proud!!
The South African lady (part of the owner family) was delightful and friendly even though the restaurant was busy (lots of local Nicosians but not many tourists due CV19).
We will be back here very soon and cannot recommend it highly enough to...

This place was hands down one of the best! Easily the most delicious food we had the whole trip big portions, great flavors, and super friendly service. The staff was attentive, helpful, and always smiling, which made the whole experience even better.
They even brought us a complimentary starter that was absolutely amazing. You can also order real, freshly squeezed orange juice such a nice touch! There’s a cute little play area for the kids too, which was a big plus for us.
The restaurant itself is stylish and well-kept. Just a fantastic experience all around....
