This was a restaurant that came as part of our hotel deal for our dinners. We had a reservation for two at 8pm and were unfortunately running around half an hour late. Despite this we were seated immediately by one of the friendly waiters.
We ordered the Saganaki Kefolotyri (salted fried cheese) and stuffed potatoes. Both dishes came out quickly after our drinks, were very hot and fresh and tasted amazing. We shared our starters.
For mains we ordered one portion of the Chicken Gyros and one portion of the Pork Souvlaki and Sieftalia. Both dishes again were served promptly and I must say, were of HUGE portion sizes. The Souvlaki and gyros are traditionally served in a Greek / Cypriot style bread (almost like pita but much tastier and not dry), completely overflowed on the plate, was hot and delicious. The chicken was perfectly marinaded and all you usual souvlaki or gyros ingrediants were served along side your meat. The whole meal was absolutely gorgeous and the chips were to die for. We barely managed to finish our plates before we were promptly shown the dessert menu!
I ordered the Ravani with ice cream whilst my partner went for the apple pie. I just want to say the coconut cake (ravani) was the best I've ever tasted in my life and I am a HUGE coconut cake fan.
All I can say about this place is that if you want authentic, home cooked meals that are great portion sizes and really tasty this is the place for you. Additionally, and this is not an extra thought, the staff were friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. It was a really homely and welcome feel and is a credit to the hotel to have such a fabulous...
Read moreWe went here for a birthday meal, and our last meal in Cyprus before flying home. BIG MISTAKE! The service was the worse we experienced on the island.
Food: The food was very poor. The bread was stale and chewy; stuffed mushrooms starter came out lukewarm; calamari starter was thick and chewy like rubber. Moussaka main course came out cold in the middle. We asked for the moussaka to be reheated. They forgot about it. The table of 4 other people had finished their meals when we had to ask for the moussaka. It was then presented about 15 minutes after we reminded them. We complained and the manager was very jovial about the whole situation, leaning heavily on the shoulder of one of the people at our table. He seemed shocked that we thought someone having to eat on their own at a table of 5 was an issue.
Services: Waitress was moody. When we asked for Prosecco to celebrate a birthday meal she pulled a sour face. It took a while for our food and drink order to be taken.
We had to ask for our plates to be cleared, they would have stayed on the table all night until we left. We asked for the bill while the plates were being taken so we could escape this nightmare.
Atmosphere: lovely outdoor setting for what could be a great dining experience.
We would not recommend for a nice evening meal. Do not be fooled by its...
Read moreEvery restaurant experience starts with good customer service, and there was zero here from the start! we waited 10 minutes before having to ask for a drinks menu, the bare minimum of customer service! The drinks order was taken along with our food order ( no lamb klefitico was available, which is a staple of Cypriot food) The wine arrived shortly afterwards and was awful! We've been here for a week, and the local wine has been amazing in all the other restaurants. Unfortunately, this wasn't our biggest disappointment. My husband's mixed grill was served cold, and my seafood dish was very light on the seafood front! My husband's mixed grill was returned to the kitchen and arrived back hotter than the first time, but it was so dry it was hard to eat! None of the staff (and there were many) asked if we were okay or how the food was (maybe they feared our response)! No dessert menu was offered or even an apology for the poor food and service. All in all a bad experience that we won't be repeating. Avoid at all costs if you enjoy good food and...
