Oscar Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Paralimni

This place has good friendly service. We visited at 6pm on a weekday and were the only customers there until others came. We were brought a basket with warm fresh roles of bread and butter. We ordered starters and mains which came out promptly. The food is of a good quality. I had the prawn cocktail to start off with. This was a modest portion and was very tasty. I then had the sirloin steak with Diane sauce. I asked for it to be medium-rare and so it arrived this way. The cut of meat was not very tender, however I have had a lot worse at other establishments and it was not too chewy. Once we had asked for the bill we were brought two complimentary shots of Cypriot sweet red wine. This restaurant is definately worth a try and you should not be disappointed. Von außen sah das Restaurant ganz niedlich aus, weshalb wir uns entschieden haben, dort abend zu essen. Bei unserer Bestellung wurden zunächst nur Getränke entgegengenommen. Das Essen mussten wir bei einem anderen Kellner bestellen. Sehr seltsam. Nachdem wir die Getränke erhielten, dauerte es locker 20 min bis dann endlich der Kellner kam, um die Essensbestellung aufzunehmen. Dann dauerte es bestimmt nochmal 40 bis 50 min bis das Essen endlich serviert wurde. Das hätte schneller gehen müssen! Bei mir gabs chicken Kebab mit chips und bei meiner Freundin gefüllte Weinblätter mit Chips, da sie Veganerin ist.

Das Chicken war mittelmäßig, die pommes waren nicht durch und haben nur nach nassem Fett und kartoffelpürree geschmeckt. Der Salat war lieblos ohne Dressing "serviert". Alles war sehr geschmacksneutral. Zu allem Übel war auch noch der Salzstreuer kaputt. Wir wollten nach einem neuen Salzstreuer fragen, haben aber beschlossen, die Bedienung nicht zu überfordern, da sie es trotz zweimaliger Nachfrage nicht hinbekommen hat, uns Ketchup zu bringen. Die Weinblätter meiner Freundin habe ich probiert, sie haben quasi nur nach Zitronensaft geschmeckt. Das wird nach dem dritten Weinblatt unangenehm. Sie meint es waren die schlechtesten Weinblätter die sie je gegessen hat. Ich verstehe nicht, wie die Leute hier ein gutes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis erwähnen. Der Preis war nicht niedrig. Eher normal. Für zwei Gerichte mit zwei Softdrinks zahlten wir ca. 32 Eur. Die Leistung hingegen war einfach schwach. I was told by a local to try Oscar restaurant, and I'm glad I did. The service was swift, soon had ordered drinks and they were on the table very quickly, we then placed our food order, I had the pork fillets oscar and it was top quality, for the price paid top restaurants would of been double the cost.
