Maybe I reviewed it before. We tend to go there yearly. Sometimes by boat and sometimes by car. This year was our worst experience mainly due to the service. We were waited on by a “big guy” with sunglasses and a lady with amazing blue eyes.. The guy was very rude, we were six, 3 kids and 3 adults; it felt like fighting with him every time we tried to order something; extremely poor attitude.. The lady was ok; very artificial politeness. After we finished and paid for the main course, we left our stuff there to go swim and then we came back and purchased dessert, coffee and fruits (see my 2 receipts).. they did not bother refresh our glasses of water and one clueless guy came and just poured the bottle into 3-4 cups of water that were sitting there for 3 hours without checking which glass is for whom.. We will NEVER go back honestly even though the location is nice..
The beach is rough, pebbles and by 1pm the wind invariably blows very hard. You have to pay extra down there for the loungers and umbrella, it’s managed by another person..
Back to the restaurant, the food is correct .. i can’t complain.. Octopus was fine, they have a nice selection of supposedly fresh caught fish (60-80E/kg)…. We also had some fish and frieds, steak etc.. all was ok.. You order Tamara which can’t be eaten except with bread and he asks you if you want bread, by asking it means he wants to charge for it and obviously the basked of pita (maybe one whole pita sliced) is charged which is as another reviewer mentioned, shameful, who serves dips without the bread that goes with them.
Anyway, will be looking for somewhere with nicer staff...
Read moreUnfortunately, our visit to this restaurant was a complete disappointment. The prices are absolutely overpriced, and the value for money is simply not there. One of the worst examples was the extra charge of €6.90 for four tiny pieces of Halloumi when we asked to add it to our salad. That’s nothing but a rip-off.
Another thing to watch out for: If you order a bottle of mineral water, you get only 0.3 liters for €3.30, while the same amount of regular water costs €1.50. So you really need to be careful when ordering.
The staff itself wasn’t necessarily unfriendly, but the whole vibe of the place is geared towards squeezing as much money out of customers as possible. It almost feels like walking through a street full of people whose only goal is to get into your wallet. And that’s just not a great feeling when you’re sitting in a restaurant.
To make matters worse, most of the food is just convenience products, so if you’re looking for something fresh or high quality, this place is completely uninteresting.
Overall, I absolutely do not recommend this place. If you’re looking for good food at fair prices, you’d be much better...

Went in for a snack and drink at lunch time and chips were tasty and service very efficient. Very poor vegan options so limited menu so we had chips, soup, drink and cocktails on a few visits at lunchtime at €50 a time, and to enjoy the view. However, on the 3rd visit we realised efficiency had been sacrificed for any customer service and friendliness. Nonetheless, we wanted an evening meal over looking the Med so we booked for dinner. They were just rude and lacking any warmth, trying to offer the bill twice when we hadn’t asked for it and wanted more cocktails. Needless to say we didn’t return thereafter. A quick lunch snack - fine, but for a elegant dinner - no! Try the restaurant above if you want a view but defo give the Baytree Bar in the high street ago. Very friendly service, superb cocktails and she was willing to vegan-ise menu items where feasible.
Captain’s Bay have forgotten they need customers to return. Perhaps they’ve become jaded with the revolving door of tourists which keeps...
