(edit: we ate here 4 nights out of 7 and this was easily or favourite place) Really great local experience. There were friendly locals eating there, and us. We both had moussaka, and a village salad to share, as we wanted local food and the moussaka was recommended by the tavern owner because it had been made freshly that day. The food was perfect, everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. The simple village salad was probably the most delicious salad I've had in years due to the quality of the vegetables. I asked the owner about this and he explained that he gets his ingredients locally, and eg vegetables come from people's gardens (I guess that's why it's called a village salad, veggies from the village), the olives from his tree, bread is baked daily, etc. Prices are very reasonable (we ate for <20 pp and that included drinks), and the portion sizes are extremely generous, neither of us was able to finish (although we both tried because it was delicious). Will definitely eat here again before we leave. Probably a few times, as we try to taste all the local food on the menu.

A place with a lot of potential. *Full menu posted in pictures* I feel this could be a lovely tavern with a nice atmosphere, food and drinks. But with my recent experience, it is spoiled by staff who clearly don't want to be there. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, with generous portion sizes! But with the place nearly empty and it being low season, you'd hardly expect the service to be nearly as poor as I have ever experienced. If it wasn't the time to be served, it was the obvious resentment radiating from the servers having to be there, to the sneeky upselling when I asked for my dish without chips, was asked would I like a salad with it to which I said yes, which I was charged €9 for at the end. I can see this being a great place for a bite to eat in peak season, but based off of my recent visit, I am dubious about returning at any other time.

The best thing about the restaurant is the vine covered courtyard, which creates a traditional and quaint atmosphere. The establishment as a whole is worn out and would benefit from major refurbishment. The food was good but not exceptional. The complementary dips for starters were a nice surprise and the mousaka was delicious. However, the halloumi was dry and flavourless and there was nothing special about the salad either. The owner was kind and helpful but the other waiters seemed awkward and inexperienced. The prices were relatively moderate in comparison with the other restaurants in the area. Overall, we had a nice experience at the restaurant and enjoyed our dinner.

Started ok. Family of 4 just arrived needed some food. Welcoming host. Plenty of space. Sit where you like. Some drinks not as advertised on menu. Starter was good. Problem was partly that the Restaurant is joined by masses of cats waiting for food. Cats always being fed with leftovers just by where you are dining outside. Main was basic ( mixed kebab etc was ok ) portions massive. We didn’t eat everything. When we paid for bill the owner or waiter was extremely rude to my family as they hadn’t finished everything. He said ‘oh you haven’t eaten everything to the 3 of my family. Wife, daughter and son. He then just pushed all their food off their plates onto the adjacent garden for the cats who dived at it. Even though I didn’t eat everything he didn’t throw mine away and took it inside. Interesting. He was happy to take full price money for the meal. I wouldn’t go here if you might not like dining with 5 cats walking around you constantly after your food or if you might not finish all your food so you offend a greedy waiter / owner. It’s not the best food and certainly not great service. He probably thinks people will keep coming and he’s probably right but one day he’ll get caught out....
