Kastro Restaurant — Restaurant in Pissouri Municipality

Well, we read the reviews, and decided to go there. We didn’t have reservation which was a mistake (high season, almost monopoly position - only one place in the neighborhood with sea-view-terrace). When we came all first line tables were taken. A lady told us to take a table which we didn’t like. We asked about an option to take other one, the answer was “no” (literally: no!, and not like “sorry, I can’t give it to you”). We asked why, and she said: you don’t have reservation, so I’ve got the only table available. Well, quite impolite, but fair. We then found a place on the terrace where a table can be moved, and asked to do so (FYI: we live in Cyprus, and moving tables where the wind is and where a client wants, is a common practice here). The answer from the manager ( lady appeared to be the manager-on-duty) was: “I am not going to move tables where everyone wants”. We pulled out, missing the opportunity to dine there. And we won’t return. Because good restaurant is not only good food, but being polite with clientele, value every client, even if you can’t serve him today. This type of “service” is getting common for touristic places with high demand,...

To begin with the positive aspects, the food was very delicious, and I particularly enjoyed the dish I ordered. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, and there's a nice view. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the service. Long wait time. It took almost an hour from the time our order was taken until the food was served. It was particularly disappointing to see that customers who arrived much later than us received their food significantly earlier. Lack of communication. We were not informed that there would be such a long wait. If a dish takes a long time to prepare, it's a good idea to let customers know in advance. Inattentive staff. No one from the staff came to our table during the entire wait to ask if we needed drink refills or if everything was alright.

Avoid at all costs!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. This was, hands down, the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.

We arrived, placed our order, and waited. And waited. An entire hour passed, and still—no food. We asked our server what was going on, and they casually told us, “Just a little bit longer.” Fine, we waited a little longer. Guess what? Still no food.

Frustrated, we finally asked for the check, assuming we’d just pay for the water we drank. But no—this place had the audacity to charge us for the full meal that we NEVER received! When we pointed this out, they claimed they couldn’t just charge for the drinks and insisted we pay for everything. At that point, we just wanted to leave, so we paid.

This was beyond bad service—it was a scam. Do yourself a favor and go literally...
