Molos Restaurant — Restaurant in Polis Chrysochous

An amazing setting by the harbour in Latchi where you can sit and relax and watch the various boats coming and going. We were seated very quickly close to the main walkway and issued with menus. We then had a fairly lengthy wait, maybe 10-15 minutes, before anyone came to take our orders for drinks, by which time we were able to order food at the same time. Meanwhile, a table closer to the water became available and they were happy for us to move. When our drinks arrived 1 of the 4 was missing and this was quickly rectified. When the food arrived it was delicious - Chicken Baguette, Fish and chips, Kids chicken nuggets. The final meal - the kids Margarita pizza wasn’t to our child’s liking as it came with actual slices of tomato on it 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️. When they came to collect plates once we were finished they checked everything was ok and we explained that only 1 slice of pizza was eaten but that it wasn’t any fault of the restaurant and we asked for the bill. When the bill came the waiter explained that they had removed the pizza from the bill as it hadn’t been to our taste which I thought was more than they needed to do and was very generous. We were very rushed. Allowed us to sit down and chat but then told us there was only 25 mins until the kitchen closed. We knew from then on that the food wouldn't be cooked well as at this point, we hadn't even ordered! Food was not good. We were a party of 7. Veg and rice shouldn't be hard to cook nicely but wasn't even cooked. How can you burn pitta? It was break your teeth solid. Calamari starter was 4 tiny rubber rings. Lamb shank was ok but mash was inedible. Steak came with 2 potatoes....2! Swordfish and mousakka ok but beware, neither come with any kind of potato/rice so expect to still be hungry. All in all, the most expensive and least impressive meal we've had in 2 weeks. Nobody came to ask if we were enjoying the food, other than a local dog sniffing around our legs. Paid our bills and weren't even offered the change. Maybe we had bad luck with it being bank holiday but food and service were very poor and, in my opinion, you are paying for the location (which is stunning) so they don't need to try. Top marks from us, greeted and seated 7 of us. Service was spot on and attentive with out being intrusive. Lovely ambiance with families and couples having a nice quiet evening meal. The food was fantastic, our children were very happy with burgers and chips washed down with children’s cocktails. The wife and I had a seafood platter for sharing which was king size prawns, calamari, octopus, green lip mussels, plaice, scallops and a delicious fresh salad with hand cut homemade chips. Other members of our family had a fruits de mare linguini delicious creation and the juiciest grilled chicken breasts with seasonal veg. Complimentary drinks to finish off a fabulous meal for all.
