After seeing the owner’s public reply to my friends review, I feel it’s necessary to clarify the reality of our experience at Noma. While I appreciate the attempt at damage control, the response contains several misleading statements that need to be corrected—especially for the sake of future diners.
First, regarding the “Argentinian ribeye” used in the steak sandwich: I’m well aware that ribeye contains marbling and fat—but what we were served wasn’t marbled meat. It was almost entirely rubbery, inedible fat and gristle, as clearly shown in the photo I attached to my original review. If this is what the restaurant considers acceptable quality, then I question their standards entirely. No diner paying premium prices should have to chew through that.
Second, the claim that I declined further assistance is simply not true. After voicing our concerns, the interaction with the owner felt rushed and transactional. A brief apology and a promise to remove items from the bill does not equate to sincere hospitality—especially when the tone was more defensive than concerned. If I said things were “fine,” it was only because I didn’t want to argue during a dinner out with friends. That’s not the same as genuine satisfaction.
As for the “round of drinks” and “dessert platter”—yes, they were offered, but that doesn’t undo the core issue: the food was extremely poor, and the restaurant’s reaction felt more like an automatic PR protocol than a heartfelt gesture.
Also, let’s not pretend this was a flawless service experience. The timing between courses was disjointed. For a restaurant that markets itself as the most luxurious in Latchi, there was zero refinement or polish to speak of.
This review is not about nitpicking, it’s about holding restaurants accountable when their marketing doesn’t match reality. I don’t leave harsh reviews lightly, but if Noma truly wants to claim a luxury label, they need to start by serving edible food and offering service that feels genuinely attentive.
Until then, save your money and go elsewhere—there are far better places in the area that don’t hide poor quality behind...
Read moreI recently dined at Noma, an establishment that unfortunately did not meet my expectations. While the ambiance was inviting, the overall experience fell short primarily due to poor service and low-quality food.
Starting with the positives, the starters we ordered were quite enjoyable. They were flavorful and set high hopes for the main courses. However, the anticipation turned into disappointment as we waited an unnecessarily long time for our mains to arrive, which seemed to take forever.
When the dishes finally arrived, the excitement quickly faded. The quality of the meat in my main course was subpar, featuring an excessive amount of gristle and fat, making it difficult to enjoy. I expected a more refined dish, but instead, it felt heavy and unappetizing. The overabundance of fat overshadowed any attempts at flavor, leaving me disheartened.
Given the reputation that Noma holds, I hoped for a more pleasant dining experience. However, the combination of the slow service and the quality of the main dishes left much to be desired. While the starters hinted at potential, the overall execution fell flat. I’m hesitant to return, as there are many other dining options in Cyprus that offer a better balance of quality...
Read moreOut of all the restaurants on the harbour, the Noma has the highest rating (and I’d say for good reason). I wanted to check out the others first though. Most were busy. The tables closest the harbour were all taken. Saw a lot of people waiting to be served despite the buskers ushering people to vacant tables. Not a good sign if you get a seat and then can’t get served. Decided to hear back to Noma. It wasn’t busy when I arrived (although did start to fill up when I was there). Service was outstanding. Feasibly, prompt and food arrived in a timely manner. The place is spotlessly clean and everyone was friendly. When I walked to the toilet, the lady behind the bar greeted me with a smile. Toilets clean and well stocked. Menu was a tad limited, was sold as a brunch menu so eggs and stuff (not keen on eggs) and sandwiches. I had a club sandwich without the egg. It came served with chips and a dip of mayonnaise and ketchup on the side. Top service. Taste was fresh. Chicken cooked just right, bacon salty and not too crisp. Tomatoes and lettuce fresh and moist. The bill was just over 15 euros including a large bottle of water. Worth...
