Went here because of good reviews. Pretty disappointed lately. It's a family run restaurant, waiters are friendly, service speed is ok(ish mostly) and has a great view to the harbor. And the cons: although there are several fish presented at the bar on ice, these are the only ingredients that are (said to be) fresh. Ordered a mixed seafood plate and only the fish seemed to be fresh. All the other stuff was made from mirelite and the waiter said that they are of course frozen as they are on the whole island. (Really??) It was shocking me a bit, but later it was more shocking, that all these seafood has the same grease taste. Not any own taste, only this greasy, disgusting-same-taste as it would be made in the same dish in very used grease. During our meal we were constantly fighting with bees and flies coming around and into the plate. After this (don't know why...) but still asked for a coffee and ice cream. It was so much time to get it. Ice cream was forgotten first time, after we had to go to the bar to choose them as it was easier for the waiter to go with him as to remember that 5-6 ice cream names that they were serving overall. At least they accept...
Read moreOrdered 'small' prawns which were huge. Cooked in a nice flavoured butter but on the shell. Very hot with nothing to remove them with, no finger bowl, no wipes, nowhere to put shells. Had to hold with a paper serviette to de-shell, but then all the flavour was removed into the tissue! Had to stack shells onto my side plate, which was removed by the staff before I had finished de-shelling the prawns. They brought out mains whilst I was still eating my starters, and didn't even look like they realised their basic error. Mains was an on the bone fish, no effort made to remove any bones which again came with nowhere to put the head and bones, was cool by the time I started it because they brought it out whilst I was still finishing my starter, and it took ages to eat to pick out all the bones, with my now slippy fingers from the starters. Won't...
Read moreFood was ok but quite strange - deep fried prawns with the skin on so when you peeled them obviously all the batter came off too. Everything was deep fried.
The server that brought our food out and took our payment was very nice and friendly. I would give him alone 5 stars.
Another server however that "greeted us" and took our order was very rude. When we walked in and said it was just two of us he just waved us outside without saying anything, not even getting up from his seat. When ordering from him he did not say a word. Just took our order and walked away. The same when we ordered our second drinks with him - not even an "ok". Seemed to be speaking with staff fine but as soon as he came over to any of the tables he was grumpy. It's a shame as it's a family owned restaurant and the general atmosphere felt nice, he was the only one bringing...
