On the website it says in quite large letters that they don’t reserve tables on the terrace. When you call, they say again, it’s not possible. So we booked a table inside hoping the space on the terrace will be available. On arrival, we did see a free table on the terrace. To our surprise it had a sign « reserved » on it. Upon checking with the waiter, it turns out this is for « a colleague ». So yeah, it’s actually possible to reserve a table on the terrace, you just have to have « connections ». Inside is unbearably hot, feels like 40 degrees. No air condition, it feels like an oven. When you enter all the waiters are ignoring you with all their powers, you have to chase someone for them to show you the table. In addition to unbearable heat, there was a very large and loud group. We asked to change the table to another section, where at least you can hear your thoughts. Not possible. Even though there were plenty of empty tables. I guess you need to have connections as well.We left and went to another place, where we were treated as people and customers and not like...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at "Pivnice U Capa," a Czech cuisine restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience. The flavors and dishes we tried were absolutely delicious.
The goulash was rich and savory, a true comfort food that warmed our hearts. The hermelin cheese was a delightful appetizer, and the sausage had that authentic Czech taste that we were hoping for. It was clear that the chef had a deep understanding of Czech cuisine, and every bite was a delightful journey through its flavors.
What truly made our dining experience memorable was the attentive service provided by Dominik, our server. Not only was he knowledgeable about the menu, but he also spoke our native language, Polish, which was a wonderful surprise. His warm and friendly demeanor added a personal touch to our meal, making us feel right at home.
The ambiance of "Pivnice U Capa" was also charming, with its cozy interior and Czech-inspired decor. It created the perfect atmosphere for enjoying traditional Czech dishes. Thank you, "Pivnice U Capa," for a...
Read moreWe had a bad experience with the reservation, so I’m leaving this negative review.
We arrived in Brno on Friday and when we wanted to go to this restaurant, it was extremely crowded and there were seven of us. Therefore, we decided to make a reservation for the next day (Saturday evening). We registered through the online reservation system and filled in all the required information. Then we waited for the confirmation email. The confirmation email never arrived, so on Saturday around lunchtime we tried calling the phone numbers listed in the contact section. I’m attaching a photo showing that I called the restaurant five times, and not once did anyone answer the phone or call us back. When we arrived, we were told the reservation was invalid because it wasn’t confirmed.
Luckily, another group gave up their table since they were fewer people, so we stayed at the restaurant.
Still, the staff were unpleasant, even though the issue wasn’t our fault. In a separate review I’ll focus on the food, drinks, and atmosphere apart from this...
