Service was five-star and the prices were very reasonable. It was easy to make a reservation online and when we arrived, we were welcomed warmly, as if everyone was happy to see us. I always feel a bit awkward not being able to speak Czech, but our server was good humored and attentive. My husband scored a Czech/ English menu, mine was Czech/German - which was no problem as my German is good enough to read a menu :-) We dined on the patio and it’s a relatively peaceful setting, just off the street and well shaded by mature trees - very pleasant. I had the pork ribs and my husband had the duck. I haven’t had BBQ since leaving the States several months ago, and was surprised that my ribs came relatively close. The sauce didn’t taste of chilis at all, but more like a very mild Texas style BBQ sauce with a slightly sweet finish. It paired well with the mustard and pickled onions on the plate. I assume in hindsight that the chilis mentioned on the menu referred to the peppers on the plate and not the sauce. My only complaint is the ends were dry. There were about three ribs in the middle that were perfectly cooked. But, they all had a very nice flavor and caramelized char, perhaps they were basted with honey? Plus, there was enough on my plate for me to take away. They packed it in a styrofoam box, so if you are in a hotel and don’t have a dish to reheat in, keep that in mind. My husband really enjoyed his roasted duck leg but thought there was a bit too much kraut. He was also a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a brew master’s choice beer on offer as described on the website. He was hoping to try something new. Our meals were substantial enough that I am glad we didn’t order an appetizer. We also did not have room for dessert. Overall, we had a great lunch and will return. This is the first restaurant in the Czech Republic I am leaving a negative review after visit. I will say right away: the place is beautiful, the food is average. However I could have given it a solid four stars if not the waiter's behavior. I want this review to be listened to because of this person I will never come to this place again, despite I live in the neighboring house. The first time I asked for the bill, the waiter, a short man, left. When he came back, he asked if I wanted more beer. What beer are we talking about if I said that I finished and needed the bill? I repeated my request. He left again. He brought the bill for two neighboring tables. At that moment I thought that it would be my turn, but this man started grabbing the dishes. I was simply shocked and asked him for the third time. I also drew his attention to the fact that I had already asked for the bill twice. instead of s. up and bringing the bill, he began to be rude to me and said that I did not ask for the bill. I said that I did it twice and now I ask him to finally bring it to me! With a twisted arrogant face he brought me the bill and again said that I did not ask for it. Horrible. We found the restaurant by trip advisor. The website stayed that they served the best so you could better make a reservation. So we did (could only at 19:00 hrs and the website stated that calling for other time was hopeless). So as we expected the restaurant should be fully booked. We came in and there was plenty of space. I think maybe 10% was taken. As we came in they immediately asked if we spoke German. We are from the Netherlands but we also speak German. However our English is better. Didn't mind, they immediately assumed we were German.

We looked at the menu and it seemed to look nice. We both ordered starters. My boyfriend got it way earlier than I did. I asked if this was alright and they said yes it is fine. He already finished his starters and than I finally got my one. It was an awkward moment. As cherry on the pie the main meal even was served when I just took my last bite of my starters.

The food was ok, not overwhelming just normal.

I would never go back here or recommend this to anyone.
