Cafe New One — Restaurant in okres Olomouc

Beautiful exterior and interior at this place, one of the most beautiful that I've even seen in any café. I was willing to give 5/5 to this place just for this one thing. But then... me and my friend encountered the staff. There were few waitresses at the place, all of them very stressed out and constantly in motion because of the workload. Few waitresses that seemed to be under the stress were still trying to be polite, but we got the moody one. As I understand Czech, I heard that our waitress was explained to the ladies at the table next to ours that the waiting time to receive meals is, unfortunately, 40 minutes. We weren't provided by this information, or at least not directly. I believe it might be because of the fact that we were tourists in Olomouc and not looking so fancy or rich as some other people might had been. Generally, the order was taken very quickly and every encounter had the same spirit. It wasn't possible to exchange bread with some salad, as I was informed clearly enough that the place doesn't make salad at the time of breakfast. Then I wanted café latte jumbo with whipped cream. The waitress almost rolled her eyes. I understand that this is not a standard request, but yeah, I had taste for whipped cream. In the end I got café and cream in 2 separate cups. Nice solution. Having decaff was ok and I'm glad for that. Regarding the prices, at first, I thought that they are very reasonable. But then I paid 100 crows for my coffee, which is almost the same as my breakfast. Beautiful interior and great breakfast options, but my issue with the place comes with the customer service. It really is a gamble on the day that you decide to grab a meal here, and I noticed that breakfasts are usually better than lunch or dinner. In one instance, I came for lunch one afternoon with a friend and I felt as though we were not treated equally as nice as other customers who were either regulars or simply better dressed than we were at the time (as we were working all day, and did not understand that there’s some sort of dress code), and felt as though we weren’t taken as seriously. In another instance I had come with a group of friends for a dinner (we were attended by what I presume was the owner/manager?) and it felt as though he had very little patience with us, got frustrated with our orders as we were ordering them, however later on he seemed to be in a better mood. It seems to me that the staff there are under a lot of pressure and it can really negatively affect the customer service. Rozhodli jsme se v podniku uspořádat oslavu mých 30. a 1. narozenin syna. Stůl jsme měli rezervovaný téměř měsíc a půl před oslavou. Usazeni jsme byli z jedné strany stolu na lavice u zdí, což znamenalo, že vždy, když chtěl jeden člověk odejít, musela stoupnout většina lidí sedících na lavici. Dámské toalety byly z části pod vodou. Protože přijel zájezd z Brazílie, tak byly obsazené a tvořila se fronta. Na stole jsme měli otevřené láhve prosecca a červeného vína, ale několika lidem byly uklizeny sklenice, na které se následně dlouho čekalo a tak pár lidí nemělo co pít... Asi po hodině čekání na hlavní chody jsme se dozvěděli od jiné než naší číšnice, že teď se dodělalo jídlo pro zájezd z Brazílie, tak jdou dělat to naše. Číšnice (podle věku možná brigádnice), která nás obsluhovala a za celou dobu nám nebyla schopna přijít říct o delší čekací době na hlavní chody, přičemž na zahrádce své kolegyni glosovala, že je to něco, když si každý z dvacítky (náš stůl) objedná těstoviny (mohli nás upozornit), nám pak vysvětlila, že “kuchyně není nafukovací”, “Brazilci jezdí každý rok” a ona určitě nebude (den před oslavou jsem volal, jestli vše platí a počítají s námi) nikomu volat, že v restauraci je soukromá akce …(kvůli které by se mohlo stát, že bude jiná “soukromá akce” čekat 1,5h na jídlo). Slečně jsme řekli, že jezdíme 5x ročně, a kdybychom věděli, že to nebudou zvládat, tak si vybereme pro dvojitou oslavu jiný podnik. Slečna číšnice se slovy “já určitě zvládám” odešla. Nemyslím si, že takové arogantní chování se hodí do jakéhokoliv podniku, ale určitě vůbec ne do podniku, kde za oběd necháte tolik peněz. Manažera restaurace nám nezavolali, již prý nebyl přítomen. Z dnešního dne jsou tu 2 podobné recenze, tak si říkám, že možná v neděli manažer vůbec v podniku nebyl. Od té doby nás obsluhovala služebně starší, profesionální číšnice, která byla moc slušná a za kolegyni se několikrát omluvila. Do podniku jsme chodili často, ale po této zkušenosti budeme váhat, jestli jej ještě někdy v budoucnu navštívíme. Oslavu zde nicméně dělat nikdy určitě nebudeme.

Na závěr se však sluší říct, že s jídlem jsme byli, jako i vždy...
