During an evening walk, we stumbled upon Akemi, a restaurant that immediately caught our eye with its inviting exterior. It appeared to be a typical Vietnamese/Sushi bar, but upon entering, we were welcomed into a charmingly decorated space that promised a unique dining experience. From the vibrant flags to the illuminated paintings, the interior was a pleasant surprise, providing a cozy and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. Our photos capture this ambiance perfectly.

The restaurant’s decor is a blend of traditional and modern elements. The interior is simply furnished with wooden tables and chairs, yet the addition of wall art, hanging lights, and flags creates a cozy and inviting environment. The attention to detail is evident in the carefully selected decorations, which add character and warmth to the dining space. The use of vibrant colors and soft lighting enhances the overall ambiance, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal.

Here boasts an extensive and diverse menu. While we only sampled the sushi, the full menu offers a wide array of options, including traditional Vietnamese dishes and various sushi rolls. The menu is well-presented with pictures, making it easier for diners to choose their dishes. We captured the comprehensive selection available, which includes much more than just sushi.

For our meal, we decided to create our own sushi set, starting with two "beef rolls" as an appetizer. Following that, we ordered:

Sake Sashimi Maguro Sashimi Maguro Maki Maguro Crunchy Roll Rainbow Roll

The beef roll was standard, not particularly memorable. The sushi and sashimi were quite disappointing; while they weren't inedible, they were notably tasteless. The tuna sashimi, in particular, lacked any distinct flavor, which was quite surprising. The Maguro Crunchy Roll, expected to be served warm, was cold and devoid of the crunch we were anticipating. The Rainbow Roll was also quite ordinary and didn't stand out in any way. The photos of our dishes reflect this lackluster presentation.

The staff were polite and tried their best to accommodate us. Although their English was limited, we managed to communicate effectively and didn't encounter any significant issues. However, the service was incredibly slow. We placed our order at 20:30, and it wasn't until after 22:00 that our food arrived. This 90-minute wait time was quite frustrating. The staff did apologize for the delay, but it significantly impacted our overall dining experience.

Initially, the prices seemed reasonable compared to other sushi places in the area. However, after experiencing the quality of the food, we found the prices to be only average. They offer an "all you can eat" option on weekdays from 11:00 to 15:00 for 249 CZK. This might appeal to some, but given our experience, it's understandable how they can offer such a deal. The value for money is questionable, considering the quality of the food we received.

One of the most significant drawbacks of our experience was the noise level in the restaurant. The charming decor and cozy ambiance were overshadowed by the loud conversations and shouting from the kitchen staff. Despite only a few other occupied tables, the noise from the kitchen and the loud discussions among the staff were disruptive and detracted from the overall dining experience. The noise level made it difficult to relax and enjoy our meal, which was quite disappointing.

While here has a warm and inviting decor, the slow service and lackluster food quality make it unlikely for us to return. The restaurant has potential, but significant improvements are needed in both food quality and service efficiency. The noise level is another area that requires attention to ensure a more pleasant dining experience.

Absolutely one of the best "All You Can Eat" Asian countries. Fantastic fresh sushi, well prepared soup and sauce food. Definitely only one place where I will go to eat every day when I am in office.

Edit 10.7: Unfortunately, after my last visit with my colleagues, I have to drastically lower the rating. Since my colleague has Vietnamese roots, he understands everything the staff talks about. For the longest time since we have been there he has been hearing swear words and very insulting labels to me and my colleagues. It all culminated on 8.7 while scooping up "all you can eat" we were labeled pigs and that we were eating an awful lot. I'm not saying we're taking small portions, but that's what all you can eat is for. Whenever we went in there, there was a lot of swearing and rude labeling.

Based on this, I and at least I and some of my colleagues decided not to visit this...

Sadly the most disappointing meal I ever had in Prague. I ordered red curry which didn't resemble red curry in its shape, taste neither in the colour. What arrive instead, it was some gruesome whitish, pink, gluey/jelly tasteless, lumpy souce, full of flour I suppose or god knows what, but it was surely missing Red Curry itself.. It looked like melted strawberry ice cream, served with boiled onion.. Disgracefully it was called the wrong name in the menu. More appropriate description would be - pink pudding with a taste of nothing. In the contrary kimchi, which accompanied the dish...

Great place! Atmosphere and service are excellent! I’ve ordered Spicy Tantanmen Ramen and it came delicious. Broth is very rich, ingredients are of good quality, meat delicious and freshly done, a good portion as well. One small tip - homemade noodles if possible, cause I feel like they were not. However, it did not spoil the dish at all. I’d definitely come back and it’s a good ramen place for Prague. Next time I’m in Prague I’ll try Bahn mi, cause it looked good. Edit: noodles are home made, came back again and this time it was even more delicious than before. Definitely recommend visiting!
