Hostel Pražačka — Hotel in Prague

This is a hostel, not a hotel! When we arrived the receptionist was very nice and helpful. The room was very clean. The negatives: When we arrived at the hostel noone told us that the window in the room we stayed in could not be closed completely. The balcony could only be accessed by the window because the door could not be opened. The door to the hall could be locked with a key but when you pushed the door handle the door would open a bit so you could see the carpet on the other side. There was absolutely nothing in the bathroom like hand soap or a hairdryer. The hostel is a bit outside of town.

The positives: We had a balcony that not every hotel or hostel offers! It had a restaurant where you could eat. There was a special room for washing your clothes. Our room had an own bathroom. There are shared bathrooms for the rooms that had no own bathroom. There are two kitchens with two fridges and two freezers so you can store stuff there that has to stay cold. It was absolutely cheap and affordable for students. There is a good subway, tram and bus connection that you can use to get into town and anywhere else.

Conclusion: If you just stay in the hostel to sleep and eat in the evening it is absolutely beautiful and cozy.

Die Gemeinschaftsduschen und -toiletten auf dem Gang sind neu gefliest und sauber. Die Wände im Zimmer sind frisch tapeziert, im Speisesaal stehen viele schöne Zimmerpflanzen. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer besteht aus sehr alten, teilweise kaputten (z.B. Schränke ohne Türen) Möbeln und einigen billigen Neuanschaffungen. Die Betten sind hart. Die Heizung im Zimmer ließ sich nicht regeln und war so heiß, dass wir mit offenen Fenstern im Durchzug schlafen mussten. Die Fensterrahmen waren kaputt und die Fenster ließen sich nicht ordentlich schließen. Im Speisesaal steht eine Ansammlung aus alten, verschmutzten und teilweise kaputten Stühlen und Tischen. Der Kühlschrank ist belegt mit Lebensmitteln, Müll und Gerümpel von Personen, die im Hostel offensichtlich ständig leben. Das Herd und die Spüle sind ok. Ansonsten sind die wenigen Schränke uralt und schmutzig. Das Geschirr, Besteck, Töpfe etc. sind ebenfalls uralt, teilweise kaputt und schmutzig. Es steht in der Küche ein rätselhafter Gegenstand: Eine Art WC sonderbarer Form ohne Deckel. Möglicherweise war es früher üblich, solche Gegenstände für Speiseabfälle zu benutzen: Es schwammen jedenfalls Speiseabfälle darin. Die Küche und der Speiseraum waren so schlimm, dass wir es vermieden haben, uns dort länger als nötig aufzuhalten Auf dem Gang (zumindest neben unserem Zimmer) stand Gerümpel. Das Hostel wird von einem Mann betreut, der ständig hier wohnt. Er war nicht unfreundlich, roch aber morgens wie abends nach Alkohol und sein wichtigstes Ziel war es, so schnell wie möglich den Betrag für unsere Unterkunft zu kassieren. Dazu scheute er sich nicht, ohne ausdrückliche Erlaubnis unser Zimmer zu betreten, obwohl wir halb ausgezogen waren. Die Besitzerin (Leiterin) war zwar auch ab und zu vor Ort, erachtete es aber nicht als notwendig, mit uns wenigstens ein paar Worte zu wechseln und verbrachte die ganze Zeit mit dem Lösen von Kreuzworträtseln. Das Objekt ist insgesamt eine Zumutung und nicht vermietungsfähig. Die Frage nach dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stellt sich daher...
