This place is not in the best location for near amenities. Upon arrival you have to type in a code, then find a locker box to put another code to get your key and find the room yourself.
The rooms are decent size, but the balcony is not really an area to enjoy, it smells of smoke everywhere. The patio doors have no blinds or privacy. The TV is small and in the living room / kitchen area. Not TV in bedroom.
The double bed is two single beds with two cheap mattresses pushed together that get in the way of the door so you can’t open it properly. The bedroom lighting is like an office, even the side lamps are so bright that they aren’t really fit for purpose as a side lamp.
We were travelling with a child and no cot was provided so our 2 year old was sleeping in between us during our stay and was slipping down the crack of the single beds that were pushed together. Not ideal or comfortable.
The rooms do not get cleaned or checked during your stay. No clear signs or information of how to remove rubbish / recycling from the room which I had to do myself and take down the street. No clean sheets or towels.
Reception is only open during specific hours and they aren’t very helpful. I was charged city tax upon leaving rather than upon arrival.
There is no place to store luggage, so if you check out by 10am and have a late flight be prepared to carry it around Prague all day or find a luggage storage space in the city. Luckily I had a WeWork membership who held my luggage for us so we could enjoy the city during the final hours without feeling like a sweaty donkey.
The prices for this place are normally around £37 but they took advantage of the fact that the world Ice Hockey Championships were on and raised the prices by almost 5 times the prices to £712 for 4 nights.
Feels a bit like a glorified hostel mixed with an AirBnB.
Quite a decent walk to the trams / public transport.
There’s no public area to sit, no food or snacks, like a vending machine. So make sure you grab some stuff from a supermarket if you don’t want to drink tap water. We spent time in Pentahotels which is much better with excellent customer service.
Feels like the area is like office complexes with nothing really to enjoy, once you get through the main park you have some local shops and bars / restaurants.
The lady was rude when we handed our keys in was unprofessional and abrupt, we enquired politely about the luggage storage and she simply said “NO”. Didn’t offer any advice where there are luggage storage places in the city. There are a few places that you can pay to store your luggage but they are way in town.
If the prices were £37 a night I guess this place would be suitable for a work trip place to set as a base, but not really good for a family.
Oh and the internet is terrible, really low speeds and keeps dropping out. You can hear noises from all of the other rooms.
Feel absolutely robbed and there are far nicer hotels in the city. Definitely won’t be returning...
Read moreI've been staying here with my girlfriend for three nights, found the Residence at booking.com amongst a big list of shabby and/or ridicolously expensive hotels. In the end, we ended up there for like 100 bucks per person!||||Well, what can I say, Residence Invalidovna promised a lot and succeeded, everything fitted the pictures and good reviews.||||Booking went good, Lucie from the reception desk handled it all in a good manner and so we got our room and a space in the key-locked parking garage. Arrival was like an hour later due to massive traffic jams but still she was there, waiting for us and friendly greeting us with a smile. She handed us the keys and told us some important stuff to know about the accomodation. ||||The room itself was very clean, we had a living room, a balcony, a bathroom and a sleeping room, more than enough if you're just planning to stay there for the night and for having breakfast. The bathroom contained a shower, a sink, a toilet, a bidet, a cabinet for your toiletry and even a washing machine including some gel for one load of dirty stuff plus two shower towels, one for your hands and one for your feet. The kitchen part of the living room had enough dishes and cutlery for almost a week, a microwave, a big refridgerator, a cooking plate and even an automatic dish washer including two pills. The table was big enough for four people to have a meal, the couch and beds were very comfortable and there was a lot of space to store your stuff into. You also get a key to unlock a part at the backside to get rid of your trash in some bins. All in all it's a very comfortable situation to be in a very quiet neighbourhood outside of city centre where people live in new and rather new houses. You can sometimes hear trains passing by at the nearby railway but on a very limited basis. In addition to very well-built windows and doors you won't even notice the other residents, some of them obviously living there for quite a time since they can also get their own mail delivered.||||10-15 min. by foot and you're at Albert supermarket where you can get various stuff to eat, drink and for the household, it does also have a butchery inside and in the entrance you can buy magazines, newspapers and cigarettes. Besides that, there's a kebab restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a mailbox, a coiffeur, a brand-new business park, a Scott bikers' shop and, the most important, the Metro station Invalidovna from which you can get directly to city centre via 2 stations (trains arrive like every 6 minutes). ||||If we'll ever get to Prague again, which sadly might be a tough decision, it will definitely be at Residence...
Read moreThe check-in and check-out process was effortless; I simply retrieved my key from a designated mailbox upon arrival. The apartment was located on the seventh floor. In summer, it could get warm since there was no AC, but opening the windows helped, although it did invite some insects inside.
It's situated very close to train tracks, so occasionally I could hear some noise, but it wasn't too bothersome. The neighborhood itself was calm and residential. Accessing the place was convenient with the subway station less than a 10-minute walk away.
Regarding the balcony, it was mentioned in the booking, and while it did exist on the top floor, it wrapped around and was shared among all the apartments, which felt a bit intrusive.
The apartment itself was spacious, with a slightly worn sofa, a table, and three chairs. There was a TV and essential kitchen appliances like a fridge, freezer, dishwasher and stove. However, I only used the fridge, so I can't speak for the full kitchen amenities.
The bedroom had a double bed and a nightstand, but there was only one electrical outlet near the bed, making it inconvenient to use a bedside lamp while charging a device. The blackout curtains were effective.
In terms of extras, there was a bidet in the bathroom, and the shower had good water pressure. Overall, it was a reasonably priced option that suited my needs since I wasn't spending much time there. However, cleanliness could have been better; there was noticeable dust under the bed, and one of the towels provided had dust on it. Additionally, there were ants on the floor.
As for security, the door lock felt a bit unusual; simply closing the door automatically locked it from the outside, though it didn't feel completely secure despite...
