I visited this restaurant for the first time today after my friend recommended it to me. She had been here several times before and always had good things to say about the food. I was really looking forward to trying their pizzas and pastas. When we arrived, the place was completely EMPTY, so I thought we were in for a quiet, pleasant meal. We were initially seated at a high bar table by an older waitress, but soon realized the bar stools were uncomfortable. Since the restaurant was empty and there were no signs indicating any reserved tables, we decided to move to a lower table nearby.
That's when the nightmare began. Out of nowhere, the older waiter behind the bar started yelling at us. At first, we didn’t even realize he was yelling at us because it was so shocking and unprovoked. When we turned around, he was glaring at us angrily and shouting that we couldn’t just move to another table. He claimed that all the tables were reserved, which made no sense because the restaurant was completely empty, and there were no reservation signs anywhere!
We tried to calmly explain that there were no signs, and he could have simply asked us politely to move if there was an issue. But he wouldn’t listen and kept yelling, making us feel like we had done something terribly wrong. I was completely shocked by his behavior; I’ve never experienced anything like it in a restaurant before. My friend even suggested we leave, but the waiter rudely said, "Then go!" We were already here and hungry, so we decided to stay and eat, rather than find somewhere else. After this, the waiter loudly complained to the other staff members, repeatedly, in a rude and hostile manner. It was clear he wanted to embarrass us. The rest of the staff treated us poorly as well—slamming dishes on our table and, in a bizarre move, placing a reservation sign on our table even though there were over 30 empty tables around. After that, they ignored us completely, and when we finally got the check, it was practically thrown at us.
I’ve attached a photo of the check to prove this review isn’t just made up. We arrived at 4 pm and paid at 4:44 pm, taking no one’s table. We also took pictures of the empty tables around us to show how absurd the situation was.
I will NEVER come back to this place again! For the management: you seriously need to reconsider your hiring choices. Don’t employ people who are rude, aggressive, or seem unfit for the job. Even if there’s a misunderstanding, there are better ways to handle it without resorting to shouting and insults. It was a truly unpleasant experience. Thank you for...
Read moreAvoid at any cost!! The service is a reminder of old socialist system. During my visits I visited this restaurant many times. During my visit last year I noticed that the service was not that great, my meals were cold. Last week after spending all night on the plane, tired went for a dinner to Palatino, close by my boutique hotel. I was seated in a hall leading to the toilet even there were many tables free by the window. Refusing that table I was seated by the window. Waiting for my son who does not speak good Czech I wanted to get for him English menu. There were three waiters standing by the bar talking and two of them facing me and starring at me, I could NOT get there attention, they looked to me as drugged. Finally one of them came and asked what I want. He returned with English menu and throu it on the table. My son was delayed so I wanted to select wine and wanted a wine list. Again NO success in getting their attention. My patience was exhausted I used knife and glass to get attention. One of them came and yelled at me that they do not do these things. I asked for the manager. Very nice young man I remembered from previous years. I tried to explain to him what happened, was interrupted by the waiter in question many times. Finally I was able to tell him my story. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE!!!! Frank Frantisak, PEng, PhD, DSc,...

STARTERS: CARPACCIO DI MANZO 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Thin and tasty slices of beef tenderloin marinated in basil, garlic and olive oil. Was great with arugula, fresh parmesan and toast.
TARTARE DI VITELLO E AVOCADO 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Minced veal sirloin on a bed of chopped avocado, dried tomatoes, capers, shallots topped with arugula. This is best eaten as a spread on bread.
PASTA: LINGUINE NERO DI SEPPIA 🤩🤩🤩🤩 The black pasta is al dente and richly tossed in garlic, extra virgin olive oil, Chardonnay wine and butter. Topped with fried shrimps which were a little hard but I am impressed with how well the pasta turned out.
DESSERT: Dolce di tiramisu 🤩🤩🤩🤩 Dessert that delights. Served at room temperature, this sponge dessert is filled with mascarpone, coffee filling in the middle, rum and encased in a thin...
