Arrosto Ristorante — Restaurant in Prague

I love the variety of dishes and dietery considerations that this place offers. Combine that to their price point, portion, quality of food, and ambiance, it really is a bargain! However, the two big drawbacks were the impossibly slow service, if that was even considered a service, and the chefs affinity to adding pounds of salt to the dishes, one of which (a salad) had to be returned back... You know you've messed up when you have a salad returned! The worst thing was trying to get the waiter's attention when your mouth is dehydrated by the salty dishes - can you imagine!? This visit was a Friday night at peak dinner hours for a party of three and we counted there was about 2 waiters for the entire restaurant and a couple of chefs by the pizza pit. Also, a very minor thing, the wooden floor in the backroom makes very loud noises when anyone, even a 5 year old, walks on it so management might look into adding some padding on their floors and most importantly, add more waiters on...

It replaced our favourite one which used to be Palatino. The quility and prices here seem better now. There is always a choice of italian food, even though it can feel limited, due to not changing weekly manu during the week. Grill options in summers make it easier to choose. This is missing a little during the winters. The quality of food can differ a little bit, there can sometimes be little unexpected combinations but it is not worrying, just does not place it to highest levels all the time, but many of times the food is excellent. This restaurant is quite hidden in the neighborhood - the bigger is the surprise if you come inside and find out how beautiful it is! Garden setting is truly wonderful! If you are lucky and come here in good weather you can sit outside and watch some football match of SK Slavoj Vyšehrad team:-) The staff was very proffesional and food was delicious. I cannot believe that there are some negative reviews. It is 10 minutes of walk from Metro Vyšehrad - but definitely worth the distance!
