Don’t eat here if you are on a tour group, particularly Grand Circle. They don’t serve you the meal choices on the menu nor do they even serve you what we were told we were getting (Roast Duck with red cabbage and dumplings-« typical Czech meal »). Instead, we got boiled duck leg and thigh with the flavor boiled out, and whipped potato and carrots. I didn’t eat it. They do sell wonderful Czech beer which we all did partake in. However, for desert they brought tiny dishes of melted ice cream with cream on top. But what do you think happens to ice cream/cream when you mix it with beer? Yep you guessed it-curdled foam. So we skipped it. We were disappointed as we expected a more traditional meal and dessert. Also, i should add, we had a TV screen right next to our table flaunting all their wonderful meals with pictures. They looked delicious but we got none of that. If I knew earlier I would have asked for a menu and just paid for my dinner on my own. The restaurant had some nerve. And Grand Circle will hear...
Read moreI had dinner here twice.
The first time, I had their burger which comes with a side of fries. It was decent and a good filling portion. The meat was succulent and overall it was a satisfying burger. The fries were OK. What surprised me is that the burger doesn’t come with any condiments on the side, not even ketchup. I had to order Ketchup and tartar sauce, for which I had to pay! What restaurant charges extra for ketchup with a burger?
The second time, I ordered their flank steak which again doesn’t come with anything on the side except for a mushroom sauté. I had to choose a side dish on my own. First of all, the meat comes in strips and not as a whole cut. I ordered my steak Medium but it was super dry and veiny. I ordered potato widgets which were drenched in grease I couldn’t eat them. The mushroom sauté was also too oily. Overall, not a pleasant meal...
Read moreWe went there before a concert at the Congress Centre. As expected it became busy as the (early) evening progressed, but that surely doesn't excuse over-cooked pork tenderloin and a garlic baguette with the ribs that was soooo hard it was inedible. We told the server about the baguette, banging it on the side of the serving board for emphasis, but were met with a shrug - no apology nor a reduction in the bill. This was from their normal menu - food they serve everyday - so it's not as if it was something 'special'. We ordered coffee and a wine instead of dessert - we waited 15 minutes before I asked about them, only to be told that they were full. I'm not blind! No problem if you wanted beer, but a coffee!! Not a chance. Expensive and overrated. Will...
