Founder of Peking restaurant was born in Wenzhou - Zhejiang province. More than 20 years ago, he decided to move in the Czech Republic. As the president of the Czech Chinese Restaurant Association, he has a fervent patriotism, dedicated to promoting the traditional Chinese food culture and opening up a new European understanding of authentic Chinese cuisine. In 1993 he opened Peking restaurant near I.P. Pavlova.

After moving to Pankrác in Prague 4 in 2006, the restaurant expanded to have more than 250 dining seats and 10 luxury private rooms. As the largest and most prestigious Chinese restaurant, it is well-known not only as the designated place for Chinese tourists, or for government-business and entertainment celebrities from China, but also as the good choice for Europeans to experience Chinese food and banquet culture

In recent years, with the closer trade and cultural exchanges between the two countries, it has gradually become a must come place for Europeans looking for authentic Chinese cuisine. The main gate extended Beijing style architectural features, in terms of stone lion sitting, copper door with iron button, and red tile.

With the aim of providing the most authentic Chinese cuisine for the Europeans and overseas Chinese, we employ the native Chinese chefs, as well as the Beijing roast duck master as the core team, adhering to the spirit of craftsmanship, in a traditional way to show the art of cuisine with shape, color, fragrance, taste as one. Whether it is Sichuan, Shandong, or Cantonese cuisine, you could feel the tongue tip and taste bud collision.

INNOVATION The kitchen is specialized in creating unique, modern cuisine using traditional techniques and the freshest seasonal ingredients from land, or sea.

We are persist in innovation, to make customers know more about Chinese traditional cuisine. In particular, every season we will offer special menu called Seasonal Special Offer STAY

SIGNATURE DISH Our main chef, who makes our signature dish called Peking roast duck has over 20 years’ experience in this field and showed up at Chinese embassy in Prague and Obecní dům several times, where visitors waited in a long queue to get a pieces of his Peking duck.

If you order the whole duck in our restaurant, the chef will come and show you the process of slicing. The Peking duck, has its own regional value. It contains cultural context and historical accumulation, culinary skills, through which is possible to explore the soul of Chinese cuisine, getting better comprehension of the cuisine and deep cultural charm behind it.

I was very wary and confused seeing the ratings. However after dinning, i must say, i was surprised in the most pleasant ways. I lived in china and ate peking duck many many years ago, it was one of the most delicious meals ive ever had and its taste has been burned into my memory, since then ive been in search of finding a chance to eat authentic peking duck. After spending thousands of kc in many restaurants across europe that claimed to have “peking duck” they all fell short.

However this restaurant that prides itself of having authentic peking duck puts all other restaurants to shame. It is genuinely comparable to the real thing i had in china. The service was nothing like what the reviews described, the waitress was talkative and friendly and immediately sat us down. I can only assume that they had to have changed the wait staff since our experienced was so plesesnt in comparison to the others.

It was on the pricey side but to me it was well worth. The dumplings were also very delicious, id recommend for the peking duck alone, and im very happy that i finally have a place to cover my peking...

If you’re looking for an authentic Chinese experience, this is where you go. I spent 2 weeks in China and the food at this restaurant is exactly how I remember it. Today it was my first time at Peking and definitely not the last. The food was amazing, big portions too. The staff was very nice and we even received a gift, which was a pretty silk-like scarf. Gift giving is very common in China and this was a nice reminder. From the moment we entered the restaurant I felt like I just left Prague and traveled to the far east. They also have various degustation options, which is good if you want to experience a larger scale of typical dishes. The food wasn’t ready right away, so maybe don’t come, if you’re already starving. Not to sound pretentious, but I’ve been told in China that their typical dinners take longer, because it’s more about the time you spend with you friends rather than just filling your stomach as fast as you can. They will give you a different menu if you're Chinese, on which the price is almost doubled than the Czech menu. As seen from the left picture below, we ordered two CHEAP dishes cost 650, while the average price on Czech menu is only around 200 for each dish! Also the service is rude, they suddenly told us the card system was not available after we finished meal and the only way to pay is using cash, without any apologies and any help to solve the problem, at last we gotta pay with some euro using a bad currency rate they provide! Will never go there again! Cheating restaurant!!!
