Let’s start with some good words. |The hotel is located perfectly in a quiet spot walking distance from main train station that arrive every few minutes . |The staff are friendly (Nh collection team) |Be aware that there are two hotels in the same area, |Nh (blue )and Nh collection (red)|The blue team can improve themselves and be more friendly at the front desk . It seems most of the time we disturb them. |The red team on the other hand were, super helpful and friendly.|One thing you should be aware is in order to get to NH collection you have to go through NH city, and from there take a cable elevator (looks like a roller coaster and bit scary ) |Once you’re finally in Nh collection, you’ll find spacious and comfortable rooms, I would say they need some work (paint peeling, and likewise) but that did not affect the overall experience. |Breakfast room is modest but I know that every NH is different variety at breakfast so no complaints here. |In our second day, the cable elevator was shut down for maintenance purpose, and the hotel provided shuttle services from the upper deck to the lower deck , that was incredibly uncomfortable, the shuttle drivers were not friendly at all, most of the time they were grumpy and drove too fast (except one young employee that driving safely and slowly) |Most of the time we had to wait for the shuttle and out of the many time we needed it we chose to walk 10 minutes down the hill and up the hill because we could not stay and wait any longer . We were late to one of tours because of it and had to pay fee for not showing on time and missing the tour|Just to make things more visual to other travelers. |The gym is located in the lower deck|And the room is located at the upper deck meaning if I wanted to go to the gym, I had to walk or wait for a shuttle . That said , the shuttle services were not efficient and not friendly and this is my main complaint. |The hotel facilities are nice, I would say that the gym is one of the best gyms I have ever seen in NH all over (and I have experienced many of them)|The hotel also has spa and a very good massage therapist but I highly recommend! ||I would like to mention the kind reception staff and especially one one receptionist that was incredibly helpful her name is Nickola , she assisted us upon the check out and make sure that...
Read moreNot entirely sure if the NH Collection is meant to be a premium or luxury experience, but this particular stay fell somewhere in the middle.
The location is not central, but it is manageable. You can walk to Anděl in 5-10 min, then take tram 9 or 5 and walk another few min to reach Old Town Square. Not ideal if you want to be in the thick of things. But public transport in Prague is affordable / easy / reliable.
Access to the hotel is via the NH Prague City Hotel, followed by a small private cable car up the hill to the NH Collection Hotel. It is a fun idea in theory, but not the most efficient system. It is slow, and during busy periods or check-in/out times, it can become inconvenient - especially if you are carrying luggage.
The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable enough. A kingsize bed with a decent mattress. Although movement from one side did transfer to the other. Decor was a bit tired and could use an update. You get a kettle and Nespresso machine in the room.
You are supposed to be able to request things like toiletries, towels, or extra coffee/tea through their website, but this function did not work - despite several attempts.
The bathroom was functional. Slightly dated. Water pressure was average, and while the sink tap got hot, the shower never did - just warm.
Breakfast was solid. No complimentary prosecco or mimosas on weekdays - which some guests might expect at this price point. However, they offer freshly squeezed orange juice and a good variety of fresh fruit. The quality of the buffet items was fine.
Reception was welcoming. Both the morning and evening (male) staff members were friendly and helpful. You can grab complimentary fruit and leftover breakfast pastries during the day - which is a thoughtful touch.
Overall, this was a decent stay. Clean, well-run, and with some extra touches. But if the NH Collection brand is meant to offer a more elevated experience, this hotel does not quite deliver on...
Read moreThere are many hotels to choose from in Prague, but not many that ticked all the boxes for our 'must haves': convenient location, comfortable beds, bathtub, fridge, kettle, indoor pool, sauna. NH Collection did not disappoint! It was very clean throughout and the staff were friendly. As we had an evening return flight, we really appreciated being allowed a later check-out. ||The breakfast selection was very good and we had a pleasant meal one evening (when it was cold and wet outside) in the Il Giardino restaurant. The pool (included in the room rate) is a decent length for swimming, but quite narrow if there are more than two or three in the water. There were always sufficient pool towels for use. Bathrobes and slippers can be ordered on the hotel app. The sauna was a suitable temperature and the jaciuzzi very relaxing after a day's sightseeing. (The pool and the jacuzzi would be difficult for anyone with mobility difficulties to access due to the high steps.)||The novelty of this hotel is the funicular which you summon just like an elevator from inside the building. It takes just over a minute to get to or from the NH hotel at street level below. During a few hours of maintenance, the hotel put on a shuttle minibus instead.||The hotel is a short walk from the Nový Smichov shopping mall with well-known chains, including Tesco and M&S. (We're British,so being able to buy 'proper' milk for our tea was great!) The mall also has a food court and there are other good value restaurants nearby. There is a tram intersection and the metro which run from this location (Andel) and so getting into the centre of Prague is very straightforward - and cheap (or even free if you are over 65!)! It took us about an hour to get to and from the airport on public transport.||We would happiy stay at the NH...
