Alright, let's talk about this Italian joint in Prague, shall we? It's not exactly on the beaten path; you might need a compass just to find it. But for those dedicated local lovers of Italian fare, it's apparently a well-kept secret. A bit like finding a hidden treasure, if that treasure were a restaurant tucked away in a quiet corner.
Now, they've got a pizza oven in there. And it's one of those serious ones, looking like it's ready to devour wood, or perhaps, for a truly authentic touch, a stack of unused pizza boxes. This beast, I must admit, works wonders on the bottom of the pizza, giving it a delightful crispness. The pizza itself, when you manage to navigate those arid borders, is quite good. Not perfect, mind you, but it certainly brings a smile to your face. For my palate, though, it leans a tad too much on the salty side. And those edges... oh, those gloriously big, fluffy, and utterly raw edges. They're a commitment, a journey of chewing that tests the limits of one's jaw strength.
But let's pivot to the true star of the show: the staff. Marvelous, simply marvelous. They're always smiling like a ray of sunshine, genuinely friendly, yet perfectly professional. Seriously, 11 out of 10 for the crew. They could probably make a burnt toast taste like a Michelin-starred meal with their charm. The place itself has a wonderfully informal vibe, which is great, until it fills up... Then it gets loud. During lunch, I've found myself practically shouting to hear my own thoughts, let alone a conversation. So, if you're looking for a quiet, intimate meal, maybe aim for an off-peak hour. But if you're willing to brave the noise and the desert crusts for a genuinely happy-making pizza and service that shines, then this might just...

What really made me go for this restaurant is how small it is, i think there is only around 20 places or so so it feel very intimate and reminds me of small restaurants in Italy. I recommend making a reservation if you want to ensure you get a spot on friday evening for example. The menu is simple, not overwhelming. I went for the tomato soup, it was nice, it could use probably a touch more sweetness as it was quite acidic, but it had a really nice thick texture and the salty parmesan went great with it. I also loved that every table gets a basket of focaccia which you can complement with olive oil, that's available at every table. For main I did go for the pasta with basil pesto and burrata, first of all the portion is huge. I can usually finish even large plates but here I couldn't and I left a bit on the plate. For me there was a touch more olive oil than I would like which made the dish a little too rich to finish. Maybe next time I would skip the soup and only get the pasta. But it was very good, the burrata was creamy on the inside and it definitely felt very premium having the whole burrata on top of the pasta. My friend got the mussels and she was very happy with them as well.
Service was polite, though a bit pushy towards the end when we were just too full to order more and we just wanted to stay and chit chat a bit more. (and it wasn't excessive I think we were there for around 2 hours)
The prices are really nice, especially for the portions and the area. All together we paid only 900 CZK and that included a couple glasses of wine and one espresso, so really good!
So overall I can...
Read moreI have to say — it’s not easy to find a restaurant that checks all the boxes for a great place to meet with friends. You want good service, a calm atmosphere, a cozy, home-like interior… and of course — good food. This restaurant came very close to meeting all of those criteria. The interior is very warm and welcoming — you feel at home the moment you walk in. The service was good — it could have been a bit better, but the waitress was working alone and managing things quite well. Now, the food: overall, it was good. I highly recommend the seafood pasta — it was delicious. The pizza didn’t wow me, but it also didn’t disappoint. It was fine. But then came the disaster: the desserts. I didn’t want to experiment, so I ordered a classic — tiramisu. Unfortunately, the biscuit was completely dry. The staff tried to explain that it hadn’t had time to “rest” or “set properly,” but that’s just not true. I used to own an Italian restaurant myself, and I know for a fact that a properly prepared tiramisu needs no more than 10 minutes to reach the right consistency — if the sponge is correctly soaked in espresso and amaretto, and layered with freshly whipped mascarpone and egg yolks. There’s no magic. Just proper technique. And the cannelloni my friend ordered? Not just disappointing — they were a complete failure. Truly unfortunate. Dessert is supposed to be the final highlight of a meal — the closing note. In this case, it felt more like a slap in the face. I really hope that next time I come back, I’ll be able to leave a five-star review and say: the desserts...
