“It is normal that you feel like running to the bathroom after eating this food” was the waitress’s response when I told her I was unwell. Also, I should not have eaten fermented food on an empty stomach. Which I found quite unhelpful in the situation where I was concerned about not being able to breathe properly, because the food was so acidly that it narrowed my throat. Overall, it’s a strange statement about a brunch offer (which is usually eaten as a first thing in a day). I also got another speech from the waitress, that my stomach was apparently just not strong or trained enough to eat the food they provide, when trying to just get out of this horrible place.
So, besides being more than disappointed by the inedible food and acidly aftertaste in the smoothie (how does that even happen?!), I was also not impressed by the service and irritated by the process for handling customer concerns. Already before this incident the service was poor, maybe because the waitresses couldn’t understand the order because it's so loud in there.
They should improve on all aspects of their offer (only the instagrammability is on point). Our experience was just inacceptable and frankly the worst eating out experience I have ever had. I will certainly...
Read moreOne of the first places we ate at when moving to the area and the place we love coming back to whenever possible! The food is consistently outstanding and although the portions can seem for bigger guys like me somewhat smaller for the price, it's clear that given the quality of ingredients and care in putting them altogether makes it more than fair.
Definitely book ahead of time if you want to eat in, and on the weekend it's basically required unless you manage to get very lucky with timing and can be seated at the window. In the case you can't get seated, the take-away pastries and bread from the bakery are a perfect alternative.
The service has always been very friendly, even on the very rare occasions that the service itself was maybe a little inattentive, but we definitely not concur with the bad service that other reviewers have had: not even in the slightest and not even on busy weekend days where we managed to squeeze in without a reservation.
Highly recommend the eggs benedict, mushroom toast, the smashed avo, and banana bread! We still have yet to try the rest, but everything has been a hit to the point that it makes it hard to decide each time we come.
Thanks so much for the delicious food made with a lot of...
Read moreGood food, ok pastries, but extremely poor, very disorganized, and somewhat rude service. First I’m told to grab a menu, sit down and order from my table but after sitting in the restaurant for 20 minutes ignored while scores of other customers walked in and were served, I decided to go to the counter and order. I was given my pastries at the counter and was then told that my coffee would be brought to me at my table. Again, I waited a very long time for my coffee — which still hadn’t come — while scores of other customers are ordering and getting coffee on the spot right before my eyes. When I approached the woman that I ordered my coffee from, rather than apologize for the obvious extreme delay and neglect, she proceeded to tell me that I was “in a cue” meanwhile we’re looking at the bar “real time” watching new customers walk out with their coffee! Unbelievable! At the minimum, apologize, but please don’t turn your negligence around by making it seem like I’m being rude when in fact I was incredibly patient and could have walked out a long time ago!! It shouldn’t take 35 minutes for a coffee and pastry. Don’t worry, I won’t be back… fortunately Copenhagen is full a great options and...
