This is a very good hotel for a stay centering on Copenhagen - 15 minutes' walk to the Central train station and town hall, from where you can easily travel to all the places you'd want to visit in the city and beyond. The welcome on check-in from a young Indian woman was warm and helpful with excellent English. We paid extra for a room with a settee - worthwhile if you can afford it and plan to walk a lot, as it was very comfortable. Our room was on the side of the hotel away from the main road and looked out onto the courtyard neighbouring local residential apartments. At night it was completely silent outside The only noise was from other hotel guests in nearby rooms. This was infrequent, didn't last long and wasn't loud. This hotel markets itself as a boutique-style hotel, so the decor of the room was Danish-style chic - sparse, functional, well-made. Enough power points for charging devices, table and bed lights as well as a floor light and dimmable ceiling light (flick the on/off switch at night to have bulbs completely off). No air-conditioning in our room, but a central heating radiator for Winter and 3 windows to open for fresh air. Curtains give good blackout. Pleased to see the bin is separated for food, paper and recyclable plastics. Galley-style wetroom is functional and clean, but small. Breakfast is in the basement, which the lift doesn't extend to - deep steps to get from reception or front door to it. Food is a good quality European selection. Cereals limited - e.g. oats, chocolate-covered rice and corn flakes. Choice of brown, rye and white pre-slice bread and brown rolls plus a selection of pastries. Cheese and ham selection too. Natural and flavoured yoghurt. Salads including couscous and bell peppers, cucumber and tomatoes. Fresh fruit too. Coffee and selection of teas, plus orange and apple juice. A self-clearing system operates. Note that when booking, if using a non-EU credit or debit card you will be asked to pay a deposit and a surcharge made for it not being an EU bank-issued card. This is common across many hospitality venues...
Read moreDear Owner of Hotel Sct. Thomas,
I am writing to you as the CEO of Safe Climate Tech to express my profound disappointment regarding the exceedingly discourteous attitude and behavior exhibited by your manager, Sevval, during a recent telephone conversation.
I had contacted your hotel to book a stay for my colleague, for professional purposes. However, the experience was so negative that I feel compelled to bring it to your attention. Ms. Sevval displayed a complete lack of respect for the customer, responding to my inquiries with a rude and disdainful tone, and refusing to provide the necessary assistance.
The lack of professionalism and courtesy was evident from the very beginning of the conversation, with Ms. Sevval repeatedly interrupting and showing a clear unwillingness to resolve issues or provide useful information. This attitude is not only unacceptable but also detrimental to the image of your hotel.
I would like to emphasize that such treatment is extremely disappointing and does not reflect the expectations of a customer towards a high-quality hospitality establishment. The unprofessional conduct, poor communication skills, and lack of courtesy exhibited by your manager represent a significant deficiency in the services that Hotel Sct. Thomas should be providing.
I expect appropriate measures to be taken to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in the future and that your staff is adequately trained to handle customer inquiries with the necessary respect and professionalism. Should these measures not be implemented, I reserve the right to reconsider our choice of your hotel for future bookings and to inform colleagues and business partners of this negative experience.
I await your response and a satisfactory resolution to this unfortunate...
Read moreSpent 10 days in Copenhagen and stayed here. This is definitely a 3.5 star hotel, however it could easily be a 4+ star hotel with just a bit more attention to detail.
Pros: Very quiet neighborhood (though we found out later that we visited during a time when many are out of town), short walk to Metro/bus, nice neighborhood close to supermarket and lots of dining, good hotel breakfast with vegan options, (coffee could've been better), very comfortable beds, and front desk staff is helpful. Common areas are kept. very clean. Room was cozy -- a bit smaller than we expected -- this was fine for us since we just crashed there after doing things all day. Bathroom is for one person only. Excellent WiFi -- had an important video conference and had no connection problems from room. The rooftop bar is nice. Based on reviews, we stayed on the fourth floor and overall, had few noise issues.
Opportunities: Housekeeping is erratic -- trash was taken out and beds were made but no vacuuming or sweeping was done.Towels were replaced only when left on the floor which would have been nice to know, but we caught on after asking at the front desk. No washcloths or top sheets. The shower drain clogged after a few days and I had to pry it open to remove hair -- this should be checked daily by housekeeping. The elevator holds two at most and is very tight with luggage. Note: there is no air conditioning and most of the time, this wasn't an issue. None of this was a deal breaker for us.
I recommend this hotel but wanted to write this because if you are expecting five star service, this is not the place for you, especially if you're from the U.S, and can't roll with a few cultural differences. It is a decent value, good location, and overall, pleasant...
