My husband and I came here for dinner and each ordered the prix fixe menu. I started with a gin and tonic appertif, which was nice but nothing out of this world. My husband doesn't like seafood, but they prepared his salad without the cod that was supposed to go with it. I, on the other hand, quite enjoyed the cod in the salad. The combination of the cod and mascarpone with the bread crumbs ended up tasting a bit like a very nice macaroni and cheese! The gazpacho was quite refreshing, especially after a day of running around. The sauce for the orecchiette dish was quite intense in flavor but still delicious and counteracted a bit by the sweetness of the sausage they used. I had ordered the porchetta with summer truffles and my husband had the steak. My porchetta was good, but his steak was out of this world. The steak itself was fine, but the sauce was mind-blowing. It was only afterwards that we realized the reason -- they had accidentally put the summer truffles on his dish and not mine. The waitress apologized profusely, and we didn't have to pay for the truffles or a round of cappuccinos during our dessert round. The dessert was a rhubarb-white chocolate mousse with yogurt sorbet. I think the white chocolate was pretty hard to detect in flavor, but the dessert was still tasty.
The atmosphere was more relaxed than I was expecting. SAS so kindly decided to keep our luggage during the entirety of our trip to Copenhagen, so we had to buy new clothes to wear to dinner so we weren't in our sweaty travel clothes. We were worried about being underdressed, but in the end, there were many people in the restaurant dressed more...
Read moreThis is a real gem of a place and simply one of the best Italian restaurants that I’ve come across in Copenhagen with very reasonable prices. The food is really authentic. This is not a restaurant that is just churning out dishes to the masses, you get a true sense of pride in what they do. Even my second course was a true Neapolitian style tasting pizza rather than the mass produced style that you see in most restaurants. One of our friends has a milk allergy and they were super flexible in offering different suggestions and the chef even offered to make her a special dish- something almost unheard of. We even tried some of their home made limoncello which was to die for! But it's not just the food that make it great, all the staff are all super friendly and knowledgeable. We got served by several girls last night and I was amazed at how all of them were super service oriented and all so friendly. The manager that night was Emma and you could see what a great team spirit she created with all her staff. The result of it all was a super great evening with really great food, great wine ( Try the Toscana) and bloody great service! Compounding that with Denmark winning 4-0, what more could...
Read moreScarpetta on Rantzausgade delivered a wonderful dining experience that was well worth the price, especially considering the time of day and the overall atmosphere. The booking process was quick and easy, and the service was warm, simple, and aligned with the casual yet elegant style of the restaurant.
As someone who reviews restaurants regularly on Google, I found Scarpetta lived up to its reputation.
We started with marinated olives and unripe peaches, and a delicious burrata served with tomatoes, pesto, and olive oil—both fresh and flavorful. For mains, we enjoyed the grilled ribeye with rucola, parmesan, and lemon, as well as the grilled seabass, perfectly cooked and complemented by green beans, olives, and parsley.
For dessert, we shared the lemon pie with meringue and the tiramisu—both classic, well-executed, and the perfect finish to our meal.
Overall, Scarpetta offers great value, a welcoming atmosphere, and quality dishes. Highly recommended.
