I have enjoyed food from Stefanos Østerbro (both takeaway and eat-in) on a variety of occasions and have been, up until now, able to overlook the very ordinary service that is offered. Not today.
We went to celebrate Father's Day with a brunch, so had two small children with us. We ordered 12 brunch plates and drinks. 444 kroner. After waiting around ten minutes later we received our coffees and milk for the kids.
Another 30 minutes went by and I was assured by the serving staff (I had to go up to the counter and ask - I haven't experienced yet that the serving staff have shown the initiative to check on diners) that the food was on its way. After another five or so minutes she came with food. Only it wasn't ours. So she took it away again and delivered it to customers outside.
Another five minutes and despite desperately trying to establish eye contact with any of the staff, no one came. So we went up to the counter and were told that our orders had been lost. So we had waited 50 minutes with two children (with lots of "I'm hungry...when is our food coming?") One of the chefs offered to start making our food then, but we could not put our now hungry children through any more waiting. They apologised and refunded our money, but I was just so disappointed.
So Stefanos Østerbro, today because of your very poor service you have lost a regular. Now instead of walking through your doors 3-4 times per month to get food for my family of five, I will choose...
Read moreI'm Italian and I was pleasantly surprised with this pizzeria.
They don't serve the traditional Neapolitan style pizza, but more like the crunchy and less traditional one. Nevertheless, the ingredients were fresh and tasty, the dough just the right amount of crunchy yet not too dry and, last but not least, they had a really good selection of pizzas.
For instance, I was able to order tuna and onions pizza, which is a standard in Italy in every pizzeria, but which sadly is rarely offered in Denmark.
Service was quick and efficient, toilets clean, atmosphere cosy with nice lighting, it was really nice to dine in with friends.
Another great plus point is that they offer gluten free options. We had a friend with us who is gluten intolerant, and she was also very happy with the gluten-free friendly menu.
I forgot to take pictures this time around, but I'll...
Read moreMisstreated regarding food allergies and ingredients: The authentic way of making carbonara is with egg sauce, and the non-authentic is made with cream. In the menu, it says that the sauce contains egg, (nothing said about cream) but in reality it is made mostly with CREAM (contains milk, and my son is allergic to it). When I inform the staff that it should say explicitely that it is made out of cream due to potential food allergies/intolerancies I was told that it is my problem for not asking them explicitely if it contains milk.
I wish they could have acknowledged the confusion and be more understanding instead of simply telling me that it was my problem.
So I guess that in every restaurant I am now supposed to ask for the ingredients not contained in the menu just because the menu is not supposed to be correct...
