Long Wait, Hot Plate. A cautionary tale.
Went out with the boys on a man-date. Very nice staff and the menu looked great. They accommodated us by selling us tequila which was off the menu, a very nice one and also nicely priced so that was great.
I sat patiently watching my comrades order safe options, a pad thai here, a sweet curry there and decided to be more adventurous. I ordered a pepper beef which was indicated 2/4 spicy pepper icons. The waitress mention it was hot but I brushed this off. Big mistake.
It got a little weird after that. One of our menu items came out very quickly and he all but finished before the next two came out. It started to become comically absurd how long my meal was taking. Everyone was long done by the time my food came out. It was about an hour between the first dish and when mine arrived.
Due to how late this had set back our plans I was now dining alone and decided to finish fast. When I was given the plate I was warned "not to eat the peppers they're too hot", by the waitress which I found odd. Why put them on my plate then?
I began eating and quickly discovered I was in for an insanely painful experience. My friends jeering at my as I began to sweat and eventually to cry. I decided to eat fast as I could to get through the public humiliation as quickly as possible.
Finally I finished. Fork down I went outside for a cigarette that I think I could have lit with my breath. My mouth was salivating in some primal reaction to remove as much of the poison as possible.
Drinks were great, my friends food looked great. I have no idea what the deal was with this absurdly long wait. If this was 2/4 heat then I want to see someone eat the 4/4. I would go back but the experience was a little weird. Pictured is me finishing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had very great dinner and drinks tonight. Although we wasn't so hungry when arrived but we finish all our dishes there with so pleasant satisfying, due to its was so delicious and all the rest condition and requirement of a good restaurant are fit. While we waiting the smell of food from other tables makes us hungry. We ordered no.14, beef crystal noodle soup, beef with green vegetable, 1664 beer and Thai milk tea. The taste is really nice, it remains the hint and soul of Asian food and the portion of dish can feed a hungry person without doubt. I ordered crystal noodle beef soup, honestly, I can't tell how I appreciated it which makes me miss my hometown beef noddle soup of Taiwan, especially the bean sprouts are just right fresh with beef soup which provides crispy texture in mouth, that makes the soup with freah rich taste. Can't even describe the other two dishes. My hobby was so enjoy its, we keeps mentioned it's just so right and great taste during our eating. Also, the stuffs are very warm welcoming to us and super thoughtful for our little toddler, the stuff gave a gentle notice to us which dishes are not spicy before we ask and they're so generous to offer a rice to our toddler when even we didn't ask for this. Seems they do taking care of customer. Moreover, the interiors makes people relax, feeling cosy, Oriental and just like home. We not live in Denmark but we definitely will visit again to have real hint of Asian food every time our stay in Copenhagen. So glad to find this Thai restuarant. It becomes one of our favorite...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy boyfriend and i enjoyed an amazing evening here with the best thai food iāve had in a long time. The lychee cocktail was delicious, and we started with some appetizers. Even though chicken satay and deep fried shrimp is quite common thai food, we went with recommendations from the lovely waitress, and the dishes here were beyond ordinary. The chicken satay was covered in delicious sauce and the shrimps were crisp to perfection. shortly after, the main dishes arrived, and the portions were large and filling, with incredible flavour. If i had not been so full i would have definitely gotten dessert. The service was great, they were very attentive and kind, and lots of insight and advice about the menu and food choices. It is a super cozy and intimate atmosphere. the owner had overheard me compliment the decorations and design choices, and she told me about how the lamp shades are rice weaves she brought back from thailand herself, the chest of drawers with spices was handpicked and transformed specifically for the restaurant, and even the light fixture on the wall was her own creation, which i think is incredible and it all came together to create a comforting and delightful place to dine. I canāt wait to return to try out more of their...
