Gondola at Lopesan — Restaurant in Higüey

Salmon carpaccio was brown and tasteless. Beef bruchetta was literally bologna sliced up. The anchovies barely had flavor. The vegetable lasagna was like tomato sauce with noodles. There were absolutely no vegetables whatsoever in that dish. The pesto gnocchi was mushy and not the way gnocchi should be served. The cannoli had no taste whatsoever. Then one of the managers or gentleman in white shirt came over to us and took my phone for me and forced me to give him and the restaurant a five star review because he said he was trying to get two additional days off. Then he took my husband‘s phone, and did it for him, actually gave him five star through the entire review. This is unacceptable. The service was horrible. The communication was not good either. I recently had the opportunity to visit a restaurant with mixed reviews, and I'm glad I did. The variety of appetizers was excellent, and the pasta dishes and sauces were top-notch. The entrees, including the Beef tagliata, Beef ossobuco, Chicken alla Milanese, and Swordfish dish, were all succulent. The highlight of our night was the exceptional service we received from our server, Jonathan and his team, who took great care of us and provided detailed explanations of the menu options. My wife and I had a beautiful evening. The food was fine, a bit salty on the sauce fungi. But the atmosphere was great (loved the ambiance music), and the service was top class thanks to Yariel Heredía and Candido. Both worked together to make sure we were served efficiently and promptly. Their smiles and attention to detail were so refreshing! They both obviously love their jobs and are committed to customer service. Lopesan is blessed...
