Bibijagua might be the most active beach. Always crowded, it is far from being relaxing. Nevertheless, it is the right place if you want to explore the real Dominican Republic. It is one of the most active beaches in the Punta Cana area with a massive shopping plaza, watersports, swimming, dining, and a whole vacation experience in one place.
The beach has designated swimming areas to protect you from getting hurt in the regions where boats and windsurfers are adventuring. You can relax on the sand, of course, but the nearby shopping plaza has over 100 stalls with souvenirs, locally made arts and crafts, jewelry, floats, the famed Mamajuana liquor, and swimming gear.
I have stayed at Secret Paradise villa near Corales beach, and I have seen it first hand, if you are not aware, you will feel you are trespassing into some society/resort.

Nice little shops, had a nice long talk with Nina who sells jewelry and about the special blue stones she sells from the mountains of the Dominican Republic. You buy everything from paintings to cigars and lots of booze in the little shops. There are a few restaurants located just on the outside walk area. The water is a beautiful color. There are dolphins and Manta Rays. I think the chairs belong to the resort next door but they are usually empty so I snagged for a few hours...
