The servers will try and price gouge you with extra tips saying that the automatically applied 10% tip is only for the cook.

THE WORST part is this: I had a server / manager ? / employee named Kevin approach me who was friendly, but extremely adamant on selling me products whilst I’m trying to dine with my wife, and would not leave us alone. Yknow I for once gave a local a chance & I was extremely let down, he told me to buy an excursion through them (captain cook) — saving money vs going through my resort. Turns out it was literally some middle man thing because I did not even see anyone from captain cook. OK. Anyways, I end up paying more than told by 20%, was promised a boat ride with drinks, a Catalina island stay, a buffet, and snorkeling.

This trip has been terrible, the boat ride is the most uncomfortable jam packed thing I’ve ever experienced — there are also no drinks as promised as well as no bathroom nothing. Practically a rowboat with a motor. When we finally reached the island, nothing was included but beer and subpar homemade sangria. They told us crazy prices for everything else. Snorkeling was a bust too. As for the “buffet” it was pastas, rice and just ham/chicken on the grill. I kid you not they limited the amount of chicken you could have to the photo attached. This can’t be more than 1/8 of a chicken breast. Keep in mind this trip was $200. Please trust what the resorts tell you and do not trust these scammy locals trying to nickel and dime any and all money out of you. This is a bad look for DR, which has beautiful people and is a beautiful country. Extremely disappointing and also a bad look for the restaurant to allow such behavior. I was not compensated for any of this may I add.
